New Line Cinema set to ruin another movie

Before the star of ROTK, there were the usual loads of trailers. One that caught my attention was the one about a prequel/sequel to The Mask.

THis reminds me of last year when i saw TTT and the trailer for dumb and dumberer.

Why does NEW LINE have to beat a dead horse in order to make money?
Because it a business and they try finds ways to make money.
The original movie will still be there.
And a sequel to the Mask which was successful hit which New Line hope to repeat.
Uh, The Mask part one was scattered ass. I have no worries that the sequel will not soil the name of an already pointless franchise.
The Mask all but ruined itself anyway, especially if you were familiar with the comic on which it's based.
But it's got Jamie Kennedy!
Precisely.

Don't be hatin'.

So, what movie is this sequel ruining?

Well noticing the reaction of the croud tothe trailer and rembering the D&D trailer last year, it seemed like deja vu. And im not whining i am only posing a question
post #13 of 28
My audience absolutely loathed this trailer. Jeers and catcalls all around.

Exactly and the ludicrious nature of it (dancing baby and all) reminded me of the reaction to D&D

You have to admit the dancing baby was goofy looking

That's a heavy response towards a poster who wasn't looking for a fight, keep in mind this a film forum where we don't HAVE to keep our opinions to ourselves.

Thanx everyone for defending me. I thought that after seeing this trailer everyone was thinking the same as me. and i was suprised that i was the first to post on it.

But some people justs don't know when to shut up (attn: Rickwood) next time actually have somthing to debate rather than puting down someone.

Yeah, one of the most counterproductive trailers ever released. I'd be a little miffed, but I caught The Mask again recently, and despite the fact that I used to think it was funnier than sin, it's a complete piece of shit with a few funny moments and a lot of overracting. Chuck Russell is no auteur.

Who's starring in this one...who could possibly out-Mask Jim Carrey?
I still enjoy the original, kind of a sentimental favorite of mine, but I'll be the first to admit it has plenty of flaws. New Line should have scrapped any idea for a sequel to this the minute they decided to let Carrey take his pay or play 10 million and not make it. I like Kennedy, but this is a bad idea. Really bad. Perhaps not Dumb and Dumberer bad, but even that is a possibility.

The Mask is the first and only time I ever saw Cameron Diaz and went "whoah!".

It's been years since I saw it, so maybe my memory is mixed up, but didn't she actually have curves in that film?
They did the same thing to her that they did to the already beautiful Eva Mandez in Stuck on You.
the audience i sat with including myself threw things at the screen that teaser was horrid, almost as bad as garfield WHY WRECK A GOOD THING next they will sequel Citizen Kane

Positively right Natural and I concur. Negative on your comment as well Bateman. Diaz actually fed herself back then and did have curves. Her body is shriveled up just like her face now. I actually enjoyed The Mask for what it was. A fun little comedy romp. I know nothing about the comic so I had no pre-concieved notions about it before I saw it.

This is going to be terrible.

But I won't claim that I didn't like the original. It definitely wasn't the comic, but it was a fine fantasy/comedy. Carrey was on, Diaz was (stress was) amazingly hot, and Peter Greene is the fuckin' shit.

i remember seeing the original in theaters and being completely awstruck.

i mean where else can you find the ultimate personification of my ADHD Addled innerself explode out and wreak havok upon mine enemy's (i mean c'mon...2 mufflers + 2 dumbass mechanics = fuckin hilarious) and then get the (at the time) REALLY HOT GIRL

i havn't seen it in a long time, but the memories are fond.

the sequel....i dunno. i'll see it...just to see it.

as for garfield....all i know is i had interesting dreams about torturing the person who greenlit the fucking script in the most demented and painfful ways possible after seeing the POS trailer. i don't think i've seen a worse trailer in my entire life.
Oh fuck me.

Compared to this, the Garfield teaser seems relatively harmless.

I don't even know what they were trying to attempt with the CGI baby because it looks far from funny and borders on Progeny of all things.

Good to see that they're capitalizing on the Red hot "Dancing Baby" hype from uh......that cancelled show with the skinny lady who's getting nailed by Harrison Ford?
