I'm really looking forward to this one. It's a FPS set in the world of Judge Dredd, and the big selling point for me is the cooperative play. Is this game even out yet? I haven't heard anything about it, and it was supposed to be out September of this year. Is it out overseas?

It's out in the UK. Supposed to hit US in February. I saw a few reviews, it got trounced a bit. Played the demo, thought it was pretty average.

this one has been delayed many times, maybe even cancelled? Ebworld and gamestop have the PC version listed as coming out either 2/04 or 4/04.

It's OK. Nothing special. As a FPS it's average all the way, as a Judge Dredd game it's good fun for the fans.

Eb has it shipping 2/25, Gamestop has it shipping 3/2

Wow you still haven't got this yet?

I thought it was pretty decent. If your a Dredd fan, you will like it a lot. I would give it a solid 70%. Not really ground breaking, and it has flaws.

Vampires show up for NO REASON other than they are vampires.
It's rather short, and the story isn't as meaty as I would have liked.

But on the good side, it looks great graphically. It looks like Judge Dredd's world, and the cut scenes are rather beautiful. If you like Romero movie's, there is one level you will love when you are stuck in a futuristic mall with zombies, and just a Lawgiver and shotgun to protect yourself.

A really cool feature (which sadly gets chucked out around the time zombies show up) is the ability to arrest perps and give them a chance to give up. The Lawgiver is a great weapon, and it's great to hear Dredd's gravelly voice shout out insults. The rag doll feature is cool.

It's a solid playing system, but it might take a while to get used to. If your curious, rent it, it's not very challenging. But it's cool nontheless. And there are some REALLY awesome multiplayer modes such as zombie apocalypse and block war. I personally really liked it, but I loved the movie too so take it for what it's worth.

Could you explain what the multiplayer modes are all about?
There are lots. I can't remember them all, but Block war is where you are a member of the red block and you have to have an all out block war against the blue block. Zombie apocalypse is you and lots of zombies, and you have a kill limit, but you can only take them down with complete annihalation of their heads.

Does anyone know why this never came out in the US?
Oh and I see REBELLION is doing a Rogue Trooper game.

Hmm, well Rebellion is a UK developer...

I played this one through as I'm a huge JD fan. This game is mediocre at BEST. It's a completely linear, boring affair....and I LOVE fps....The graphics, while initially convincing, soon start to show their seams. the levels are like ghost towns with just a few pedestrians populating the streets....hardly a teeming future megopolis. A.i is somewhat reminiscent of Doom with enemies generally just rushing at you while chucking in a couple of sidesteps for that "surprise" factor. You don't get to ride the Lawmaster ( pimped out motorbike ) which is unforgivable considering you're supposed to be Judge Dredd. The Lawgiver is fun for a while ( gun ) but the other weapons leave alot to be desired and even when you have them there is little ammo. I did have fun for the first few levels but after that things deteriorated rapidly...unfortunately. The arrest system is a fun and novel idea but you quickly tire of hearing the same old quotes OVER & OVER again and after the first couple of levels it doesn't show any more anyway.
Rebellion really dropped the ball on this one. The game stinks of being rushed.
Yawn.

5/10.

Fps I LIKED include Riddick, Halo/H2, Deus ex, Call of duty ( p.c ) etc...that should give you some idea of where I'm coming from.
