I totally forgot, when Johnny, Dave and I attended a radio station Halloween bash out here, there was a guy in a FULL ON badass Alien costume, he had to be about 12 feet tall, had a mechanical mouth and drool, everything , that chick's costume is balls but this guy's surpassed.

He was sposed to send pics but I dunno what happened to him...

Sucky thing was he was coming for the contest ($3k for first prize) but he was literally about 5 minutes late for entry and they wouldn't let him get judged. Dude was pissed. He shoulda won too.

Holy God! That's a new one. Mad as a bag of weasels indeed. I read that he did a series of paintings named after her but not that he made a chair out of her fuckin' bones! Don't the Swiss have any laws about that sort of thing? I've just been looking at buying his art book 'Necronomicon' after seeing the Quadrilogy extra on his some of his work. I've also seen pictures of his house in 'Clive Barker's A-Z of Horror' and it is amazing. It shows Giger sitting in a chair that is huge with four silver skulls on top of it and the sides and back of it look like vertebra. Beautiful stuff. I would really like to have that cross sculpture by Giger that some toy company put out recently but I think it was about $850.

If you think his house looks cool you should visit his museum in Switzerland sometime! It's "only" a 10 hour drive from where I live in Austria so I took the trip with my brother and his girlfriend last year. It is in this tiny rural Swiss town, in the French speaking part of Switzerland ... The museum as 3 floors that are all crammed floor to ceiling with his paintings and sculptures! Trust me, it is one thing to see his paintings in same artbook and something altogether different to have them in front of you for real! Some of them are freakin' gigantic and cover a whole wall! There are also some badass props from the films he worked on like a few Aliens and the train that was used for a much too short sequence in the disappointing SPECIES.

After visiting the museum we all drove to the Giger bar in Chur (the bar in the museum was not open back then) and had drinks while sitting in chairs Giger designed for DUNE but which were never used. Lots of great memories ... I absolutely intend to go there again in a few years and check out the new stuff!

I get no respect anymore.

I was concerned for that girls health. She could obviously catch cold.

Aw, crap!

BTW, where did you find that bit of info? I've pretty obsessed with Giger and own most of his books but that part was news to me ...

That would definitely be worth a ten hour drive Wetbones! Giger's museum sounds like it would be awesome to visit. However, I am a poor bastard from the middle of America so a trip to Switzerland is not in my near future. I will just have to get an art book and hope that McFarlane finally puts out that Giger sculpture soon.

Isn't it based on a painting he did of his wife Li?
Butane and Girlcreeture saw it at a toy fair in New York ages ago and it's still not out yet. I REALLY want the Sideshow sculpture too.

I think we have that story in one of the parts of the doc on Disc 2 in the Alien Quadrilogy...maybe Giler talks about it. After 14 months, I can't bring myself to watch the stuff we did.

Cool, if it's on one of the Quadrilogy DVDs I'm sure I'll find it one of these years. Just got my set today and am still in awe of the sheer amount of stuff on there ...
