Argento's CARD DEALER trailer

OK, you can either wade through the funky Italian website as described here or you can just right click and save this link.

I have to say I dig the score and the sight of rotting flesh that is so painfully absent from US trailers thanks to the MPAA. But the whole "torture website" stuff still makes me fear an Italian version of the juggernaut known as FEARDOTCOM ... Other than that the trailer has some very Argento-esque camerawork and a very giallo look and feel to it. I didn't hate SLEEPLESS (though it was muddled and deeply flawed) so I'm cautiously optimistic about this one.

The film is distributed in Italy by Medusa and will open there in a few days. The DVD with English subtitles should be out in the summer if all goes as usual.

Hey, I read a story about this....

I have only one concern, and that concern's name is Euro Pop. Who cuts these trailers together ? It's like a particularly rancid turd from the "musical" arse of dance music.

Argento, schmarmento, I'm there whatever. Even considering his immense late 90's failings, I've yet to meet an Argento picture I don't want to pick up and suckle, even if occasionally the mewling little shit bites off my nipple.

I thought Sleepless was fairly entertaining, now the less said about Phantom Of The Opera the better. Barring my winning a free airline ticket to Italy I'll be buying the import dvd when it comes out next year.

I'm not in the habit of letting his films suckle at my teets. However, I am looking foward to it. If only Johnny had seen Phantom, his hate for sleepless would dwindle.

I don't think Dario Argento can direct anything as bad as was "Feardotcom."

Personally I think FEARDOTCOM was marginally more "enjoyable" than Argento's PHANTOM OF THE OPERA. But that's like arguing over who has the bigger hemmorhoids ...

Not having seen SLEEPLESS yet ( I just simply refuse to view Artisan's pan & scan atrocity , so I'm waiting until I have the $$$ to order the UK DVD ) I can't comment on it, but I did see PHANTOM & I was NOT at all fond of it. So, I have some rather high hopes for this one being a return to form for one of my favorite filmmakers.
And, I must say, I DID enjoy the trailer. It looks quite promising to me anyhow. Let's hope it lives up to it.

Blah.... as much as I am awaiting Argento's triumphant return to form, I was hardly impressed by the trailer.

By the way, does anyone know if this was shot in English and dubbed into Italian as per usual with Argento?
