Yeah, it might be a day early, but some of us get gifts before the actual day, right?

My best one so far (sorry Ryan) is the teaser poster for Creepshow, all framed and ready to hang. Not to sound like a little fanboy but OHMYGOD is it ever cool!

Full list coming soon. What'd you get?
That is one cool gift Johnny! The image from the Creepshow poster is one of my favorites and I even did a painting of it for myself back in the 80's. I've got to pick up one of those.
So far, I got a Hellraiser lunch box. A 25th Anniversary Halloween Return to Haddonfield comic. Escape From New York S.E. DVD. A Nick Knight DVD (Rick Springfield rulez!) With my Christmas bonus from work, I bought myself a gift. The Alien Quadrilogy. I'm so damn thoughtful!
i hope to open a quadriolgy tomorrow morning
post #4 of 71
A coworker gave me a VHS copy of a film called Reign in Darkness. That's all so far.

Your coworker must really hate you.

I wasn't planning to watch it. It looked like a crappy Blade rip off, and I didn't care for Blade.

ATI 9600 XT video card

Bunch of cd's - Hatebreed, DevilDriver, Marilyn Manson

DVD/VCR combo player

Some cool clothes

AMC theater gift card

Have a Happy and Safe holiday everyone!!!
Most horror related thing I got was a big coffee table sized picture book called It's a Man's World. It collects all the cover art from the post WW2 pulp sweat magazines. Full of pages and pages of illustrations of men being eaten alive by wild weasels and other crazed beasts and shapely women in nothing more than their bra and panties being tortured by leering shirtless Nazis. I love it.
I got a few horror dvd's: Thirteen Ghosts, Alice, Sweet Alice, and The Ugly. I got some gift cards, a couple to best buy and one to hot topic, a few cd's, some clothes, a new wallet, etc.
Oh and i forgot my lovely present from creature-corner. The final theatrical poster for Ginger Snaps 2. Thanks a lot guys
post #12 of 71
Got money. Will spend it first thing tomorrow.
Shedload of DVDs, basically that's it horror-wise.
My roommate got me the House of 1000 Corpses figures. Her Boyfriend got me the Jeepers Creeprs 2 dvd and my mom got me a Texas Chainsaw Massacre t-shirt. That's the horror loot that I got this year.
Here's what I've gotten so far at least movie wise.

28 Days Later (WS Special Edition) DVD
Halloween 25th Anniversary Edition DVD
The Wicker Man DVD
Wild Zero DVD
All The Love You Cannes DVD
Brain Damage (LE) DVD
Videohound's Cult Flicks and Trash Pics
If Chins Could Kill : Confessions of a B Movie Actor
I got myself
John Carpenter : The Prince of Darkness.
I got a bit of money so I'm going to get some DVD's tomorrow. Any suggestions? horror or otherwise. Don't mention the Alien set however, I've not gotten it yet, but I'm not in an Alien mood at present.

Also i'm going to see my GF later tonight, and I'm expecting maybe another movie or something from her. But i'm not sure.

nice. would like to hear some opinion on this before shelling out. expensive book, IIRC.
It's not really that expensive only $19.95, but since I work at a bookstore I got it for less. Anyway it's one of the most interesting film bios I've ever read. It's just a very long interview with J.C. broken up into chapters based on his movies, his life, and his style. It's a very interesting read, and I finished it quite quickly. There's my review.... Now any DVD recommendations?
The only horror related thing I got was the 28 Days Later DVD.
Alien Quadrilogy
Tenacious D Complete Masterworks
Macross 2 VF2-SS Transformable Model Kit
Midway Arcade Treasures (X Box)
50 bucks.

Okay, so...

Got a subscription to Fango from the Creetch, as well as clothing (sweet, sweet covering), the Alien Quad, and the Mez-Itz Army of Darkness figures. Too smooth.

Ryan got me a subscription to the Hellraiser Collector's Club, International Spookshow #1, and a kick ass Steve Niles T-shirt.

Friend of mine got me a shirt that says "Zombie" in the Subway logo style, and under it it says "Eat Flesh". Coolest. T-shirt. Ever.

Lots o' Old Navy gift cards (more new clothes, thank the Gods) and $50 to Best Buy.

The Creetch and I got a Halloween carousel made by Deparment 56, who apparently makes very high-end Hallmark stuff. We had seen it at Hallmark during Halloween and much drooling commenced, now it's all OURS!
You got some DVD that fuckin mook Davis has to give you as well, but, hey...New Year's gifts are like, in this year.
i got Donnie Darko and Nightmare Before Christmas on dvd, sweet movies

...and my prize possession.... bagpipes
Butane, all too familiar with that carousel and you've made me doubly envious.

It was a Haunted Mansion christmas here at the Rotten household. I've shed all memories of the actual movie to resume my further appreciation for the ride.

Horror/Haunted Mansion related presents: Three new Haunted Mansion collectibles of the house and the graveyard and shit, they light up, glow in the dark, are pretty friggin' big.

Butane and the Creetch nabbed me an Ichi the Killer dvd and a Dan Brereton Sketchbook (beautiful!).

Also got a new coffee table book called Hollywood Horror. It's got some photos of the early Universal monster classics I've never seen before. Looks like a great read.

There was some nifty Nightmare Before Christmas high-end collectibles waiting under the tree too. Let's see, also got the House of 1000 Corpses toys. They're butt ugly but still cool.

For myself I finally got two dvds I've been after: Silence of the Lambs, and April Fool's Day. Got some credit at a local store and picked those up.

Also got a truck, but that's not horror related, but I'm damn proud of it nonetheless. I've never personally owned my own vehicle before in my life.

Don't forget the TCM companion, bro. That was an early Xmas gift.
John Carpenter: Prince of Darkness (been checking out the pics so far today and it has some great shots in there. It'll be read by the weekend.

Palisades Alien and Predator busts and the Mezits Alien and Predators sets. Also the Battlestar Galactica Box Set, not horror but it made me very happy!
I got some other stuff, but for horror, this is what I got:

Alien Quadrilogy (it'll take me months to get through it all!)
Re-Animator Millenium Edition
Night of the Living Dead Millenium Edition
Dawn of the Dead (out of print U.S. Theatrical Cut)
You guys are so lucky. The only thing I can do when I want something horror-related for Christmas is ask for money and buy it myself. My family and most of my friends are just very confused when it comes to horror... I don't think they would have any idea what to get me.

About the 1000 corpses toys - Captain Spaulding's the only one worth buying. Dunno what went through their heads when they designed Baby and Otis, even the colours are terrible.
I got knives.

Sadly, it's a culinary thing as opposed to full on homicide.
I opened up a Quadrilogy the other day.... That should be enough for a loong loong time

I also got an electronic toothbrush, but that's another kind of horror

Exposed!

Straxboy is really Jamie Oliver! My wife digs you, man.
Dude, I'm sure I just got free of Whitehead taking the piss out of whatever other inauspicious and detrimental revelation about my life, now you give him some more ammo ?

You are all, each and every one, pukka. Which makes me a cunt.

Damn.
I luv it when Strax says cunt, but twat is much more enjoyable if only to argue about the pronunciation...

I actually had a mega girlie year this year. Not too much horror loot:

- Johnny got my '93 Bess Cutler Gallery poster of Clive Barker artwork framed all purty like, for the dining room too, yay!

- Rogueboy got me Critters and the Waxwork double DVD and he got me the Spencer exclusive girl scout Living Dead Doll, so cute!

- My sis, as Johnny mentioned, got us the BADASS spooky Dep56 carousel, dining decorative bliss, ahhhh.

- I also got the Roman Dirge toys "Halfsies", cute little animals that you can split in half and play Frankenstein with the bodies.

I think that's it for horror stuff....The Rotten's picked me up the Criterion edition of The Hidden Fortress (wooooo!) as I slowly build up my Kurosawa collection, then everything else was pink, smelly, and girly which is also damn fine by me, though it's kinda freakish that I was super psyched about getting new linens for my bedroom, damn I'm getting old....

And oh, the $135 in H&M gift certs RAWK my femme ass, yay clothes!
Thanks to a few gift certificates my horror loot increased a bit today. I gave myself:

Day of the Dead
Halloween 25th Anniversary
The Ben Stiller Show (so funny you'll DIE)
The Zombie Survival Guide
The Soul of Capitalism (scary in a different kinda way)
Horror-related:

Alien Quad
and money to help film my own horror film. Can't get a better gift than that.

- Fixxxer
I gots:

Darth Vader Replica Lightsaber

Aragorn's Ranger Sword

Cell Phone
MONEY! That, coupled with Christmas bonuses, will finally allow me to go region free!

Anyone got any suggestions for players? I'm thinking THIS.
I got some funky high-tech reading lamp so that I will no longer need my candles made out of baby fat.

There was also that monstrous ALIEN QUADROLOGY that everyone else seems to have gotten as well. Yup, ALIENS still kicks ass above and beyond and once again made me wish that Cameron would get off his subaquatic ass and direct another sci-fi or horror film instead of making that retarded lovestory about deep sea divers and probably developing gills while making manlove to Dagon ...

Up next was a nice big pot for my kitchen so that I will now be able to cook most girls in the whole. And some sort of portable grill so I wont even have to drag the corpses home when I do the killing in a hotel ... And a coffee machine so that I will never get tired from mindless slaughtering! Yay!

And I also got me 200$ that should cum in handy when I hit the brothels next weekend ...

PICTURES!

The aforementioned Creepshow poster...

Two shots of the Dept. 56 carousel...

The Clive Barker print I got for the Creetch to keep her from eating yet MORE of my skin...

And, finally, a HUGE ASS Frankenstein head that we've had for a while but just hung up tonight. Target had these during Halloween and we asked real nice like (at about 50 different locations) and finally got it when they took it down. I left the shot of the bookcase in there to give you an idea of it's scale...

Anyone else out there?

Looks nice on that wall, man. Good loot.

Wow, you should really get some more of those framed, man. Nice posters, but if something happens to 'em you're kinda screwed. Plus they just look better.

Ryan, we just used two nails and a thick piece o' string, worked beautifully. It's gotta be simple if the Creetch could hang it on her own...

That is true. (Creetch - I'll take my spankin' when I see you guys in two weeks!)

Slasher - Great posters. The Wrong Turn one-sheet clashes with the flowery wallpaper though.
Rotten sent me a copy of the Black Christmas DVD. (Something I've been waiting a long time to get, thanks again man...even if you did fail to mention what I got you for Christmas in your loot list...)

Used Holiday $$ to pick up a bunch of horror soundtracks I missed over the last few months (I'd tied myself up with a major project in the latter half of '03 and wasn't able to keep up with my soundtrack purchases / reviews) including: The Order, Gothika, Jeepers 2 and The Swarm (Jerry Goldsmith, Michael Caine, Irwin Allen, Killer Bees!! Rock-and-fuckin'-Roll!!).

I also (finally) grabbed the 1978 Phil Kaufman version of Invasion of the Body Snatchers on DVD. Don't know why I haven't owned that one all these years.

Other than that, the best present I got was making The Hellboy's infant daughter laugh / giggle for her first time. What other present did I need after that??
