Christmas came a day late to me....the Vamps of "Van Helsing"

This probably means I'll have to go and cancel my plans of getting that big-ass My Scene set I was going to do as Drac's ballroom....

ANYWAY, after the shitty Christmas I had at my sister's house yesterday, this totally makes up for it.

Roxburgh with Anime Hair!!!!!!

I am looking forward to this flick like no other next year, and have loved everything I have seen and read about it so far.....until now. Richard Roxburgh looks like a damn fairy in those pictures. He couldn't scare or intimidate a four year old into eating their veggies, let alone anybody or anything else.(Did I hear that he is kinda the Leader of Frankenstein and the Wolf-Man? Maybe I imagined that). Dracula's human prescence at least gives me a little pause. And I don't want that. His hottie vampire brides are scarier than he is!

Seeing these reminds of my first glimpse at the brides from Coppola's Dracula. Only there's no Belluci here.

That's cool. These don't look too bad.

I can´t wait for the first picture of the ... um ... midget baby vampires. They will probably wear diapers and do silly sommersaults while trying to fly ...

Yes, thank you Stephen Sommers for your own brand of "cinematic genius" ...

Maybe there´ll be a scene where Frankenstein´s monster (which is idiotically called "Frankenstein" in this flick) does a pratfall and farts? The PG-13 crowd would love that!

Please shoot me now!!!

PS: Those brides are not even a pimple on the ass of those from BRAM STOKER`S DRACULA. Which reminds me: When the fucking hell will that special edition DVD come out with all the cut Brides footage? Ever since reading that Fango interview with J.V. Hart I´m dying to see that stuff!

PPS: Sommer´s Dracula looks like a cheaply made up goth who suffers from midlife crisis induced depression.

PPPS: JOST SHOOT ME NOW!!!!!!

Wow, the hate comes spewing forth. The Mummy films were dumb action fun, this looks to be more of the same, maybe a bit darker. Nothing that's going to revolutionlize the genre or anything, just a good time at the theaters.

But...are they really calling the monster Frankenstein? *shudder*

Ugh. Such a terrible film. Sorry you had to suffer through it.

Hey, at least it's not a hip-hop dracula....

Once again, there's a difference between dumb fun and annoying dumb. There's A LOT of people who put the Mummy movies in the annoying dumb character. Hence all the hate.

Also, I think one of the main reasons why movies like this get so much flack is because so many people (myself included) are sick to death of seeing these overhyped, overproduced disposabe movies with budgets roughly equivalent to or more than the gross national product of many third world nations that have seemingly no ambition whatsoever other than to get by with enough cheap thrills. They don't have to go for the epic scope and storytelling of the LOTR movies but even a movie that aims to be "dumb fun" can be well done. Look at BIG TROUBLE IN LITTLE CHINA & ARMY OF DARKNESS then look at THE MUMMY & THE MUMMY RETURNS. See what I mean?

Sure , they are attractive.

And I LIKED the first Mummy movie, for what it was.

But this really leaves me fearing the worst. Any film that calls Frankensteins monster Frankenstein is just throwing away any sense of justice to the source material at all. Sad.

Sadly, its a common mistake. Secondly, I'm surprised you seem surprised by this coming from the same filmmaker that gave us roaring mummies.

And just for the record, if that's supposed to be Dracula then this movie is screwed. That's the lamest looking Dracula since...well, its a toss-up between Christopher Atkins in DRACULA RISING and Geordie Johnson in DRACULA: THE SERIES. This Dracula looks like he should be the lead singer of the opening act at a Bauhaus concert.

And the blonde vampiress, isn't that just Dina Meyers from DRAGONHEART? Sure looks like it.

Yeah, because I've been much too positive about this flick until now and need to make up for that!

As for the Frankenstein's Monster / Frankenstein bit ... Well, they sure made that mistake with all their ads I've seen so far. Maybe it's not that way in the actual flick but I'm afraid we're in for a kick in the undead nuts ...

But hey, Ryan read the script so maybe he can comment on this?
Uh...honestly I don't know why they call the monster Frankenstein. I mean, the good doctor is in the opening of the film. I'll have to look at the script again, but I think Sommers refers to the monster as "the creature." I'll get back to you.

I'm at work now looking at the rest of these vamp girlie pics...and honestly, they're doing nothing for me.

No Belluci makes Rotten a dull boy!

Drac and the vamps look decent if this was a late night Skinemax film, but pretty bad if this is supposed to be a major studio release. Dracula looks like someone told him Dave Gahan is straight and he hasn't recovered yet.

Indeed. I just hope this won't be another MUMMY RETURNS with horribly cheap looking CGI despite the insane budget. Sommers seems to be really good at making expensive films that look incredibly cheap. Is he blowing all the money on coke or something?

Welcome to the LBF*, BITCH!

Seriously, I knew he was gonna have anime hair... and why isn't Paramount producing a "Goth Talk" movie?!

ANYWAY, I still think he looks a bit sezzy, even if I AM the only one here with estrogen running through her body.
