Video Watchdog Roundtable Discussions

Haven't visited the Video Watchdog site in some time and, pleasant surprise, found a cool new feature over there! The VW gang are now doing "roundtable discussions" in which they spotlight a film they've already reviewed in the magazine and take the criticism further on the site. Instead of one analyist, many members of the VW team - Kim Newman, Tim Lucas, Steven Bissette and others - weigh in on a particular film.

Click HERE and select "roundtable discussions" from the left-hand margin. The discussion on Gary Sherman's Raw Meat is terrific.

Interesting stuff. Read part of it, will finish later.

I particularly like how they go into depth for the Pleasence character. Frankly I think they're seeing a lot of stuff that just isn't there, but still it's fun.

Loomis is still my personal favorite character of his. Goes to show, he was an actor with range...

It is fun. Often I find the "observations" of some critics who read into horror too much as pretentious, but the guys behind VW always have some interesting things to say and call attention to things I may not have noticed.

Exactly why I've been a loyal reader since the issue they turned me on to Cemetery Man. Definitely a fun read.

The magazine continues to impress me, and I will always be a loyal reader, but now the website is showing such promise also.

All around good stuff!
