Did a quick search and found these...

http://store.hbo.com/product/VMHHV0204-VHS/s.hcvGN7mh

I thought they were out of print along time ago.

I already have these 13 tapes (14 if you count the one off they originally came out with). So i am hoping that Frech one has different episodes on it.

At least the Morton Downey Jr one about the haunted house. I have a grainy old 6 hour VHS tape of the "Marathon" they ran on HBO years ago that has that one on it(Slowly going bad over repreated viewings). Has stuff that i have not seen since on it (Like the Meatloaf and Christopher Reeves- Diner one)

I thought the French ones was just the Zimeckis episodes ??

Why aren't they putting TFTC entire season sets out on DVD?

Argh! Another example of the film industry torturing it's audiences..

As near as I can figure it - although my French translation skills are for shit, so I could be wrong - the French ones are going to be three episode discs, one released on the 13th of every month of which there will be 13. And as a special deal the first two will be available together for 13 Euros. They're really working the number thirteen there.

It also says something about being exclusive to newsagents. So they may not be available from major online retailers. Again, I could be wrong.

So that'll be 39 episodes. According to TVTome, the first three seasons came to 38 episodes. So I've no idea if they're going to be all three seasons on there and one disc will be just two episodes, or if they'll be the same random selections from the entire run as the VHS sets mentioned above.

At a guess I'd say they'll be in chronological order from the first episode. There was a Region 1 disc out a while back with four episodes directed by Zemeckis edited into one anthology movie. If I remember correctly it was actually called 'Tales From The Crypt: The Robert Zemeckis Collection'. Maybe that's what you're thinking of?

thanks for the info Quatermain, this French set is going to the top of my must have list. I've wanted DVDs of the HBO shows since forever. Hope they'll be uncut.

Any more info on these French discs, and availability etc would be much appreciated...

Did some scouting around online. It didn't help that I didn't pay attention in French class, but I found some more info.

These DVDs may or may not be a repackaging of some other sets that have been out since last November in France or there's some exclusivity deal with news agents so they can release the individual discs. I may be wrong, but either way, these discs are being released both individually and in three disc box sets in France.

According to this site, the first box was out early October, the second was out late November. The third box comes out in February and the fourth sometime at the end of 2004. They also have the box art, which looks really fucking nice.

As for the episodes, they break down like this:

Set One:

Disc One - 3x01 - The Trap, 3x10 - Mournin' Mess, 3x05 - Top Billing
Disc Two - 3x04 - Abra Cadaver, 3x02 - Loved To Death, 6x01 - Let The Punishment Fit The Crime
Disc Three - 3x03 - Carrion Death, 3x08 - Easel Kill Ya, 4x05 - Beauty Rest

Set Two:

Disc One - 4x06 - What's Cookin?, 4x12 - Strung Along, 3x06 - Dead Wait
Disc Two - 3x13 - Spoiled, 4x02 - This'll Kill Ya, 4x04 - Seance
Disc Three - 4x07 - The New Arrival, 3x11 - Split Second, 3x07 - The Reluctant Vampire

That's the line-up for the box sets, I'm assuming the individual discs are the same.

I found that the first two box sets are available for 26 Euros a pop here . Looks like a nice price, although the first set seems to be sold out and I have no idea how reliable that site is, but if they're available there, they should be elsewhere.
