There used to be a thread about an indie-video game called "I Was An Atomic Mutant" on these boards, started I believe by one of the developers himself. At the time there was only a website and a downloadable demo, and the guy didn't know when it would be released widely or how.
Anyways, the demo was a pointless-but-fun smash-em-up in which you got to play as a 50-ft. Godzilla-type monster, basically Rampage in 3-D. The finished version also promised being able to play as a 50-ft. woman, a War-of-the-Worlds style Alien Walker, or a Giant Brain. The music was campy 50s Sci-Fi scoring and was a strong point, as were the similarly styled player characters (if a little blocky--hey, it's indie, like I said).
Long story short, I remembered this game and was thinking if I ever saw it someplace I'd pick it up. Well, the beast whose name is Wal-Mart has it in the bargain software bin for less than $5, so I grabbed my copy today. I know that means the developers are getting next to nothing, but hey, life's full of tragedies. At least their work will be appreciated.

The Website is still there, btw: http://www.atomicmutant.com/
