An telecast date for TNT's new 'SALEM'S LOT?

While more & more info is coming out regarding ABC's upcoming King project KINGDOM HOSPITAL , there's been precious little released about TNT's version of 'SALEM'S LOT.
I know there's a lot of fans out there that are less than thrilled about another version of LOT, but I'm not one of them. While I'll always have a special place in my heart for Tobe Hooper's 1979 adaption, there's no way that I think it should remain the final say on my favorite Stephen King novel.
While I'd have preferred a big budget, big name cast , "A list" director, 3 hour theatrical epic version, apparently I'll have to wait ANOTHER twenty years for that one.

Anyhow, I AM looking forward to this new miniseries. While I have some reservations about the cast, done right I think they can pull it off.
And I can't wait to see the new take on Mr. Barlow. I figure as long as Hauer stays as far away as possible from his foppish, over the top vampire performance in the original BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER , then it'll be OK.

I just wish I knew when the hell it was going to be on!

I've forgotten about the new TNT Salem's Lot remake. I went to their site and there's no mention of an official air date. All they say is that it will air sometime in 2004. The cast is pretty good though:

Rob Lowe
Donald Sutherland
Andre Braugher
Rutger Hauer
James Cromwell
Samantha Mathis

I can't wait to see this. How long will this movie be? I hope its at least two 2-hour movies.

And in case you missed it, someone seems to have liked it.

I hope they beef up Father Callahan's part. Such a cool character.

With Rutger Hauer on board, it's an A-list production right there.

This MIGHT be a SPOILER ... I don't know.

I looked at the IMDB cast listing and there's some 33 year old actor named Shayne Greenman in a role called "Barlow (Final Incarnate)."

Anyone know what that's about?

well clearly Mr Barlow will go through a transformation. He'll start off in human form as Rutger Hauer, then at some point turn into this other dude, presumably under a heavy makeup.

guess it won't be like the original TV version where Barlow is fully vampire from his first appearance.

I'm looking forward to this series even though I know in my heart it's gonna be crap.

im looking roward to this. the original hooper take has some great moments. but its pretty slow as hell. also the restrictions of the 70's (tv) really show.

i like peter filardi and the guy who directed sole survivor. which i like to call Akira lite.

There was so much style in Hooper's version. I LOVE it, it's one of the best TV horrors ever.

Ditto on the Hooper version. I've watched it on DVD several times, and it's never gotten old. I'm afraid the TNT version will suck all to hell, but have high hopes nonetheless.

"Salem's Lot" has been finished for a long time, but they're keeping it in reserve as they like it for either a sweeps period or an "event" in the summer. I've heard nothing but good stuff about it.

The creepy little vampire boy floating in front of the window gave me quite a few nightmares as a kid. Other than that I'm not the biggest fan of the Hooper version, even though it is one of his best works. The NOSFERATU-esque vampire make-up was silly as hell and I'm glad to hear they went with something else in the new version. Fillardi is an interesting guy and I'm curious what he's done with the material.

BTW, when will we finally get that RICKY 6 DVD? It's been a couple of years.
