Today was my last day at work!

It's official. I'm unemployed and a full-time student.

As most of you know by me posting on CHUD for the past three years, I've been debating quitting my job to go back to school to get my degree. Well, this past fall, I took part-time classes and loved it. However, it was a struggle to work full-time and take classes simultaneously.

Even though I didn't know if I'd get accepted or if I could afford it, I gave my notice and today I end my 7 year tenure as a political organizer for the New York Public Interest Research Group.

I have recently been accepted to the Masters Program I applied to and my financial aid package is still being processed (please, please, please give me lots of money!!). And although I don't know how I will be able to pay for rent or be able to eat, I'm excited to start a new chapter in my life.

Just thought I'd share.

Congrats! I am proud of you for furthering your education. As for the whole rent/food issue...How do you feel about makin' porn?...It's good money....

Congrats!! I too, have thought about quitting my job, and going back to school full-time (fear of paying the bills has held me back so far). You are one heck of a lady, and I wish you nothing but good luck (that and a sugar daddy to pay your living expenses)

If you are worried about expenses, check in on deferred loans. Most are fairly reasonable with low interest rates.

I got one to cover what the GOVT woudn't float me the last two years of my college studies. I even delayed the payments for another year since moving really put a strain on my budget.

I've been unemployed for some time now, yet they will not consider my in-depth scrutiny of pornography a "field of study", and thus I am not a student. Damn and thrice damn!

Uhhh...Congratulations?

I posted on here about fifteen minutes ago (it was both long and funny, like my penis) and now it is not here. Either my PC is whacked (like my penis), or something has CHUDed on CHUD.

good stuff, welcome to the world of the poor and starving student, i figured i was poor and starving to begin with, so going back to school seemed pretty natural, water ye going to school fur? graduate studies?... need quick cash? the restaurant business, you'll get enough to pay rent, have to only work a couple of days or nights a week, and you'll most likely get free food, unless your boss is an ass, and you'll be able to get part time work almost anywhere in the world, 'cause markets may go up and down unpredictably, but people will always have to eat, it's been keeping me going for some time, but most important, it's fun, lots and lots of fun...

grendel! It's always great to see you posting. Even if you only post to talk about your penis.

Well, as usual things can't go easy. I get an e-mail from the Feds saying they processed my financial aid package and sent the info to teh school. True to form, I go to the school yesterday only to have them say they have no record of me in their system.

Now comes the cat and mouse game where I contact the feds and they say they sent my stuff and then I go to the school and they say theu don't have it, so I contact teh feds and they say...

My brain hurts. I only pray this gets sorted out by the time classes start and tuition is due.
