DAMN YOU FOY, Half a drac is WAY to high a rating for this movie!
Spot on review though!

Whew, for a moment there I thought you were gonna lash out at him dissing another "new classic"

With this plus Children of the Living Dead under his belt in recent years, he better be damn glad he has that Simpsons spot as a feather in the cap. Have to admit that I have a sick urge to see this after Foy's especially violent review of it.

Tis a pity. I kinda know Martin Kelly, the screenwriter, and he's a really decent sort of chap...guess personality doesn't count for everything.

I wish I saw the review before I bought the movie...

yea they just dont make crap b horror films like they used too.

Remember the time when you could actually watch the b flicks and enjoy them. Hell that was a ritual with a bud of mine all through high school now its all so different. With a few exceptions here and there (monsturd being one of them).

I was at the vid store other night and my GF actually picked up Vicious b/c she thought I would like it. Luckily my instinct told me the box art was as decieving as Deep Shock and instantly told her to put it down. Instead I settled for a repeat renting of May that night

I kept hoping that Full Moon would be the company that made the watchable B movies. For a while they were but then they lost direction in my opinion.

I also dug the video newsletter.

The only movie I've ever seen that had worse monster/human interaction was the total piece of shit called MUTATOR that starred Brion James. I guess they spent all the money getting him to star because the monster was a big pink cat puppet. Bad enough the monster was supposed to be a 7-foot humanoid cat creature with pink fur but they couldn't even afford a suit so whenever someone encountered the monster the movie would cut to this shot of a hand puppet of the monster against a black backdrop with growling noises inserted. And when I say cat puppet I mean cat puppet. It looked like the same kind of puppet used on Mr. Roger's Neighborhood but with it's arms stretched out, pink fur, and a scary feline face. Only interaction with the actors were the pink furry cat claw hands that would occassionally massage an actor's face and smear raspberry jelly on them to simulate a horrendous mauling. Absolutely one of the worst movies ever made.

As for VICIOUS, I'll say it again - if you can't afford to bring the monster to life in an even semi-effective manner then don't fucking bother to make the damn movie!

One man's trash is another man's treasure. Count me in on one who will watch this, and Vicious.

Dude, I'm Mr. Bad Movie Guy and even I'm telling you those two aren't worth wasting time over. Even bad movies have to have some sense of entertainment value. Boring is the worst kind of bad and both are very boring.

My opinion

I had the pleasure of working on Vicious and I think with a few minor exceptions , it came out great.

I also , like most of you, think the monster was slighty off .....but you have to understand....we shot with one creature, but its teeth would come out, and alot of issues arose with it, so after teh shoot, they did the cgi editing.

I think the first creature was better, but I still dont think that takes away from the film, which I loved.

Matt Green is an awesome directopr and I will be shooting a movie soon in which he did the Creature for .....NOT CGI!

The cats and crew were awesome. It was a very small , intimate shoot and it worked amazing....Pioneer filmmaking at its finest.

But to everyone their own opinion....but from the perspective of a crew member on the set........and a watcher of the film after the release as well as the footage that led to what you all saw.....I think they did an awesome job and I am proud to be a part of it.

Not to be a dick, but don't you think you have just a little bias towards it?

I mean,I thought the movie was ass.

C'mon, CuriousGoods, I've worked on a few films I'll readily admit were ass on celluloid. Do you mean that you were happy to see that a final film was put together in the first place? No matter the end result, at least it kept several people employed.

No.....I actually wasnt completely thrilled with the finished product.
Like I said, i think the creature we first started shooting with was better....but alas its not up to me.

I think the film could have come out alor better, but it could have been alot worse.
I mean, sure Im a tad bias.....but Im like that with all my films.
But I have seen movies alot worse than this.
I think with the exception of the monster, and a few minor foul ups in editing, it was a great film.

the script was great, the crew and cast worked really well together , which is great because we were a very small crew doing 3,4,or 5 jobs at a time.

So Im not gonna nominate it for an academy award obviously, but I think it came out well.
Could it have been better....yes.....
But Im content with the result, even if its not what I thought would be better.

Yeah, I'm curious as well. I have not seen this film, but do know Roy, the guy who created the monster. He's a good guy. I have never seen any of his work, other than what he has done at Netherworld, but I would not think twice about bringing him onto my crew, if I had need. I have not heard anything good about this film however, regardless of who did the effects, etc.

You dug up a thread from over a year ago...and you quote yourself? All you need now is to give yourself a nickname and you will have the trifecta.
