Stay strong, Will, and tell your wife she's not the only one who can feel upset. There, that oughtta make her stop and think.

Rationality is a beautiful thing, in relationships. I hope I can find a realationship with a man someday that includes that.

Its weird. Mine is a very strong willed woman. No shit tough and smart enough to catch a husband who might be screwing up just a little. I wouldn't have it any other way. I don't think I could handle a whimp for a best friend.

Actually, I am an extremely lucky man. I try not to take it for granted. Of course, as you can imagine, I am a handful sometimes.

I had the feeling that most of Will's complaining was tongue-in-cheek. : )

You ladies sure do like curly hair it seems. You can have mine, I hate it. I have like five cowlicks that ruin any hope I have of having cool hair. I really want to grow it kind of long, like maybe to my shoulders but it already is becoming a pain and it's not even past my ears yet. Sad thing is that I was born with my mom's straight hair, and then when I got leukemia and all my hair fell out, when it grew back, it was magically my father's. I'm so bummed about this, I really really really want longer and straighter hair, I've never ever had it and now that I have lost so much weight, it would look awesome on me. I'll quit my bitching now but needed to get that off my chest!
Thanks for the recommendations. I have been trying this straightening balm but I may have to go for some heavy duty shit if I want the mane, which I do.

Well, I do like that tongue and cheek thing. Like they used to say about snuff tobbacco products, "Just a pinch between your cheeks and gums." I never understood that, but it made me jump when they said it.

BTW, I am a world class whinner and complainer. NEVER pay any attention to it. I am basically just a big wuss.

Will... that criptic message is for you and you alone to figure out.

Minnie mouse has the largest shoes in town.

I dream about having erotic dreams. Haven't had one in ages.

But I did work out the nursing dream though, in one of those "D'Oh!" type moments when you could just smack yourself.

Am handing in notice to the landlady today. Go me!

You're right, of course. I am still stuck on that Cheek and gum thing. I love it whn a woman says Cheek and gum. What does that mean?

Hello ladies...men? I feel like busting in this thread and spreading some of the noxious gas that is me. Did you know I can do the robot?
*Does robot. Breaks hip*
"Damn you, robot!"

SHOES!

If I were rich, one of my sins would be over-indulgence in shoe-buying. Comfortable shoes, skimpy sandal shoes, well-designed professional looking shoes, hiking boots to scramble up and down muddy hillsides, high-heeled boots, low-heeled punky boots, sexy shoes...there's a shoe for every day that a woman may wake up to. Guys seem to like the bitchy shoes with pointed heels, the ones that look like you'd walk all over them with.

I lost nearly every pair of shoes I own when mold attacked my storage boxes. I cannot tell you how depressing that is, though as someone equally obsessed with footwear, I'm sure you can guess.

What's the name of that mold? Does it work on underware?

San Diego? It is PERFECT there. No dampness, no humidity, no bugs, (Well hardly any) It is a guys climate. It rains 9" a year. Average winter tempature is like 65 degrees. I miss it.

Now, if someone had been licking her shoes that might explain it.

Hmmm...perhaps I need to start an investigation into the shoe-licking angle.

Even I am baffled as to how I ended up with a closet full of mold in this climate. Mayhap it was a conspiracy by the shoe industry intended to boost the economy.

I feel for you, dear.

Do any of you ladies or gents sew? I have a sewing machine sitting unused in a corner because I just don't know where to begin. Does anyone know what sort of supplies I should buy to get started? I purchased a book that has a long list of items, but do I really need them all? (When making suggestions assume I have nothing...)

You can teach me to do that instead. Then I can hire people to sew for me. *grin*

Actually, I know a really hot seamstress who lives in L.A....we may be on to something here!

I'm lucky if I can sew a button back on. A sewing machine
is something that I'd like to possess at one point in my life
that way I can make some awesome duds!

As for supplies, I am totally clueless as to what you'd need.
Have you done a 'google' on sewing machine materials?

Suing crooked financial institutions is the greatest job in the world. There is NOTHING that can make your week like nailing a bank that has been stealing millions from its customers and see their faces when they learn they HAVE TO PAY IT BACK! Yeah!

I so like to sue.

Hey Gracie! I used to sew alot as a form of relaxation, you know, concentrate on something else besides my crappy life...anyway,
if you're really interested in trying it, my suggestion would be to:
1) go to a fabric store (I think there was a Hancock Fabric store in San Diego when I lived there).
2) Find a Simplicity pattern (they have big books you can look through to find something simple to make...a skirt, shift dress, pullover blouse, baby/kids clothes). Simplicity seems to have the easiest patterns. There will be a pattern number that you use to find the patter in some filing system the store has.
3) on the back of the pattern package it tells you exactly what supplies you need for that pattern. No sense buying more than you need....
4) also there should be some kind of instruction book with the sewing machine that tells you how to run it. And the people in the fabric store usually are happy to answer all sorts of questions and even may have classes they give.

Hope that helps!
