Meh, I liked "The Bugaloos" better.

I think the line's "Happy as a summer breeze". Go fig, it was the early '70s.

Yup, and her chauffeur Funky Rat.

You know, I kinda think that it's also in the same vein as the "Pokémon" anime......

Yeah, "Lidsville" was VERY surreal. I remember watching "Pinwheel" back when I was little and they had a similar Stop-Motion Animation show about hat people from Europe which they showed on there all the time. Anyone know any more about it?

I've got dibs on Drooper. And following that, Bez from the Arabian Nights.

Anyone remember the live-action adventure story they had on Banana Splits as well? Danger Island, I think it was called. Directed by Richard Donner. True story.

Better than Timeline too.

I remember seeing one of those when I was about 4 about a guy who went to space and came back as a claymation worm. Scarred me for life. Seriously, it was probably the scariest thing I ever saw.

i got dibs on bingo (the gorilla). this show was out of control. i had totally forgotten about it (they used to show it in italy in the late 70's); thank you donald for reminding me. i can't believe kids today have to grow up with the teletubbies as a substitute for the grandiosity of the banana splits that we had the pleasure and the privilege of watching. how sad.

why was it that they all wore fireman hats, btw?

The Banana Splits themselves were great, but the cartoons they showed were shitty.

I think Teletubbies are, if anything, even more surreal than the Splits.

There was this rich kid I went to elementary school with. Every year he had a HUGE birthday party. Well, every year we got to go to his house and drool as we looked upon his very REAL Banana Splits-mobile. He had on of the originals, and it was badass.

Absolutely.
The Banana Splits was like a televised simulation of being drunk and stoned. Teletubbies is nothing short of an acid trip.

FUCK YEAH!!! Someone else remembers the Hair Bear Bunch!!! One of my friends and I joke about that show all the time. And I always thought they rode invisible motorcycles, but it's been a while since I took a ride on the late, great Cartoon Express.

Shibs, the ULTIMATE show about hippie stoner bears (One with a 'fro no less) and their "The Man" zookeeper. Thank you Hanna Barbera for bringing us this masterpiece of counter culture!
I swear to God, I knew someone when I was in High School who looked EXACTLY like the bear with the 'fro.

His name wasn't 'Huggy', was it?
