Looking real good. REAL good. I expect to have some serious CHUD.COM ESPN Baseball games on XBOX Live.

Who's keeping track of these? Let's keep a database of links and updates on all the platform baseball games for this year.

Damn, I haven't played console baseball since the last Ken Griffey, Jr. game on Nintendo 64. That said, if the new ESPN Baseball game is as slick as ESPN Football is, I may have to dive back in.

Well i've never been much of a world series baseball(now ESPN baseball) guy, more of a MVP baseball fan.

and speaking of ESPN football, i just lost another close game on XBOX live to some bastard. Son of a bitch stopped me on fourth and one at the end of the game.

I'm a little pissed off about the change from World Series Baseball to ESPN Baseball, but I'm sure I will get over it when I play it. World Series Baseball is the best baseball series ever. I have every version of the game except for the 2K2 on Dreamcast.

I'm curious, did Sega pay to use the ESPN brand, or did ESPN pay Sega for the right to cover all their titles with the ESPN moniker.

Nevermind. Apparently, this feature has been scrapped.

Oh well, this still looks to be the best of the bunch so far.

Kinda surprised that the scrapped that feature. First-person mode was the main selling point for ESPN Football against Madden. Additionally, it was really freakin' cool.

We only recently got Xbox Live and I am allllll about Live baseball this spring. But I've been playing High Heat exclusively for a few seasons now. The first World Series Baseball on Dreamcast was a bucket of ass; I assume it's improved since then? But I'll take damn near anything with Live support, and I'm totally down with a CHUD league or somethingorother.

*Reminder that I've already stolen Chris Sabo's Goggles as a team name from another thread.

Next week I get my broadband hookup. I'll also be jumping on live. I'll be picking this up, too.

Once I get broadband in my apartment I'll be able to pick this up and play a game or two with you guys. It's a damn shame that it might be a couple of months before that happens.

ESPN Major League Baseball is confirmed to be Xbox Live enabled.

However, a bit of bad news: Player-Created Online Leagues will only be available on the PS2 version of the game. Boo!!! Why???!??! PS2 Online is suck.

Online Play In ESPN Major League Baseball
By David Smith
1/20/2004

Though it was elusive on the question when the game was announced last year, ESPN Videogames today confirmed that ESPN Major League Baseball will feature broadband online play for PlayStation 2 and Xbox when it arrives later this spring. Both versions of the game will include online competition and voice chat support, and the PlayStation 2 version will have the added bonus of player-created online leagues.

Online leagues let players set up their own organization, fill it out with each individual's teams, and review statistics and ESPN-style GameCasts and game recaps after each league game concludes.

"Baseball is a sport filled with legendary contests," said Greg Thomas of developer Visual Concepts. "Whether during an inter-city showdown or a heated match-up between division rivals, the dramatic battles between pitchers and batters have created some of the most memorable moments in sports history. Adding online play to ESPN Major League Baseball is key to capturing this competitive spirit. Gamers will now have the ability to create their own extraordinary moments as they battle others from anywhere in the country."

ESPN Major League Baseball is gonna be unfuckwitable. Yeah, i'll definitely wanna have some Phillies vs. Braves games with you on Live, Atlanta folk.

Yeah, it just sucks all kinds of ASS that we won't be able to create our own CHUD league and play through a season unless we use the PS2 version.
It'll be a bit more of a pain in the ass, but we should all stick to the X-Box version anyways.

We can do our own league/tourney/whatever, and make a thread or even a web page here in CHUD to track our league.

Pain in the ass? You betcha! My lack of a PS2 and love for X-Box Live kind of make a PS2 league impossible for me. Since I'm sure that Nick is trying to set this up exclusively for my enjoyment, let's just stick to the X-Box.

At least CHUD tournaments should be plenty of fun.

What's the word on that new change-on-the-fly batting system in the new MVP game?
