Let's do 10:30 or so. I'm going out around 11:45 or 12:00 tonight.
Shit, I really need to get Live. Killing you guys would be a fun time.
Same here Otis.

So far though I have no games that really go with live...

"Crimson Skies" and "Rainbow Six" are worth purchasing for the Live MP versions alone, seriously. Plus, the Single-Player games aren't too shabby, either (RB6 allows you to issue verbal commands to A.I. squad members via your headset, which rules all).

And, DeLude, you just know that someday there is going to be an Action/RTS Samurai game for the Box that allows online co-op play (maybe "Samurai Warriors" will come to XB after it hits PS2? If not, there will surely be something else). Could you imagine joining fellow Chewers for a romp through feudal Japan?

I got my R6, I got my x-box live. I just don't know if I can even get on tonight....um, what time zone are you in Nick?
Eastern... the center of the Universal Timezone.
If I remember, i'll sign on. Haven't played Live in like a month, though. Just totally lost interest.
if my calculations are correct, when this baby hits 88 MP...

um, unless that time converter is a flat out liar - 10:30 eastern equals 7:30 pacific no?
That's correct, mongy.

I also need Live (and a broadband internet connection).
Don't own the game. Is it worth it for single player as well? If so, I'll pick it up this weekend...

That's my problem. I use my home computer to such a small extent that I just can't justify spending $35 a month for broadband.
oh yes you can otis, you can justify upgrading to broadband. Why, because I told you so. If you don't. Well, let's just say I'll send over some folks who'll make you a manburger to eat.

$35 bucks is a lot. Thank god I work at home to justify such an expense. Yes honey, I do need this to upload files to canada. Oh, that...that's, it's nothing, you can ignore those wires hooked up to the x-box. That's a new surge protector, yeah, that's it...

Hell, I had a tough time trying to get my wife to understand that I needed NetZero Platinum instead of regular NetZero to look at porn in a more timely manner.

How does Rainbow Six play out? Is it a pretty realistic tactical sim? Or at least close enough?

Heh, if they do I know it would be me and you buddy. Slicing and dicing our way through the hapless enemies like Yojimbo.

And I'd totally buy Live for that...

Although...Tenchu when it comes to X-Box should have Live right?
so are you still screwed with your broadband sitation grave?
Yeah, I even tried lobbying while the in-laws were here- a surefire way to pass everything through- and it was a no-go. Honestly, I would have felt a little guilty if I had won. I just wouldn't use it enough to justify the purchase.
oh yes you would. or something.

Making the jump from dial up to dsl/cable is a kick in the pants. Lia tried going back to dial up but she hated it...she's like some kind of junky now. I like it.

It becomes much more apparent when you visit this site, or cruise the boards. The loading times begin to get to you, you know precious seconds of your life are being stolen away.

completely off topic, I need to shave.

It's only going to get worse grave. A lot of sites I used to frequent are becoming more and more cluttered with image maps, java apps, macromedia flash animations...all to make the internet as interesting as tv or something...dial up isn't going to cut it anymore.

Yeah, it's a squad-based, tactical FPS. Kinda like "Splinter Cell" or "Ghost Recon". Basically, you are the leader of a small elite group of four soldiers sent on top secret counter-terrorism and search & rescue missions. It's unlike most FPS where you just walk around and blow stuff (and people) up. In order to be succesful in the game you need to employ some decent strategies and tactics. For instance, you could just step through some of the game and let your squad makes do all the dirty work and take most of the hits and damage. But there are times when you need to lead a certain assault or they will be more vulnerable. Things like that. And you need to use different strategies for each situation a lot of the time. Also, each soldier has a specialty or two that you need to be aware of. Of course, the game also has a Diffuculty setting that you can play with to either hedge more toward the "fun" or the "realistic".

Great game... and that's not even counting the Multiplayer version, which is a blast in and of itself.

I believe it's supposed to, yes. So there ya go!
I'll be on but my headset which I tried to fix many times, is now once again broken and I hadnt had a chance to fix it again yet.

Ninja Gaiden is supposed to be on X-Box live as well, how, I don't know, but it will be on X-Box live.

I'M IN THE ROOM. I'll send requests to all. If I don't have you, send a request to CHUDCOM
post #26 of 35
Cool. I'll be on there shortly.

Prepare for deaths (probably mine).
I'm in there with you now Nick and the reason I wasn't responding is because my headset is broken.

I just put two and two together. My little bopping up and down on the two teams was a hello.
I'll be in in about 5 minutes.
I could hear you just fine Nick, and I did switch teams when you asked to see if I could hear you but I guess you didn't notice it. The reason my head set is broken is because the part where the ear piece attaches to the head peice snapped off so I can't attach them together.

As for my connection, it goes and off sometimes and I don't know why. When I first entered it was good then it got really crappy. I left because it started lagging so I didn't want to screw up your game.
Xbox Live HATES me tonight.

I can literally get onto any game except Nick's. And he's sent me about 7,000 invites, which I have accepted.

I keep getting errors when it tries to retrieve my statistics and then a "Server Error" after it tries to connect. I can get onto all other current servers just fine.

Anyone have any ideas? For damns!!!!!!!!!!!
My modem is acting very strange, I have never had a connection like this when I played on live before. I left again because of the lag. The odd thing is that when I enter other games, it works just fine and I get no lag.
My dad never fucking watches tv, but tonight he had to pick to watch tv. He won't let me use it for a half hour to play some R6. Maybe tomorrow night when he is at work, we can play if anyone is free.
Good stuff tonight...but too brief....or I guess I got in a bit too late...and only enjoyed a couple of rounds....more of this tomorrow night....name a time. Need a longer session to get used to everyone's style.
Forget Rainbow Six. When's the next CHUD Counterstrike session?
