Which horror films are best viewed while lighting up?

My picks:

- Leprechaun flicks
- Puppetmaster flicks
- Braindead (aka Dead Alive)
- Meet the Feebles
- Bad Taste

This is a horror board....

This is a horror movie board.....everyone knows if you:

Use Drugs or have Sex you're going to be singled out and killed by whatever is lurking around the corner...

Thats why you've gotten no responses, sorry.

And that's why I love CHERRY FALLS ...

BTW, anyone know if an uncut / unrated version of that film will ever be released? It's so obvious that they gutted that movie for the R rating ...

The movie had to be re-cut five times in order to achieve an R-rating. Most significant cuts include:

- Graphic sexual activity during the climactic orgy sequence
- The death of a character named Annette The originally scripted scene showed her having her throat slowly pushed onto a pane of glass. The scene was filmed and very brutal, done all in one graphic cut. However, she shot was later replaced with her character's head split open in the front door. That scene was still trimmed heavily. In unrated versions the top of her head erupts and a splash of blood flies across the doorjamb.
- Rod's death had more blood.
- Timmy's death was an on screen kill that featured gruesome spurting blood.
- A character's death at the climatic orgy was nixed for time and MPAA constraints. A male character's throat was slashed open.

I'd just like to say that bad herb and The Invasion of the Body Snatchers do not mix at all.

Yeah, or bad herb and Lynch's LOST HIGHWAY ... I still don't know why I thought that would be a good idea ...

Once I watched Vampires: Los Muertos on Tylenol. I told you I was hardcore.

If you're talking about Kaufman's 'Invasion of the Body Snatchers' and smoke not being a good mix, agreed. Abel Ferrera's 'Body Snatchers', on the other hand...whoa, mama.

Also recommended while gettin' a bit organic:

* 'Hardware' and 'Dust Devil'
* 'They Live'
* 'Candyman'

...and I dunno if you guys think it counts in a horror discussion, but I consider it a monster movie, not a superhero flick so 'Hulk' DEFINITELY rates a mention. (And to quote Slater from 'Dazed and Confused', "...and he's green too!")

By the way, Dances with Chainsaws, dug that Jon Stewart 'Half Baked' reference - that's some funny shit.

Yup - it's not wise to mix substances that induce paranoia with films that are concerned with paranoia.

Well, this thread should've been about herbage but I once watched UROTSUKIDOJI with a girlfriend while on acid. Seriously. It was fun.

The one and only time I saw Dead Alive was on LSD. I've never had so much fun watching a film while tripping.

As for herb, I once saw the original Night of the Living Dead while stoned and holed up in my bedroom in the basement of my folk's house in the middle of the night (about 12 years ago). I'd seen the film before, and found it effective, but that night... DAMN. I got sucked into it completely and fully understood how horrifying it must have been back in 1968. Ben's death at the end devastated me, particularly the still images during the end credits where his corpse is dragged by meathooks onto the pyre. That really got to me in a way few horror film experiences ever have, and it's one of my most cherished horror film experiences.

Oh, and the hallway scene in Exorcist 3 caused a panic attack when I watched it stoned. Damn near had a heart attack as well...

It's all about the bug powder.

Exterminate all rational thought.

Being high as a kite is the only way I can imagine someone sitting through "Hulk" and having a good time. All that supposedly "deep, moving" stuff in it probably looks like much deeper, more moving stuff that way, too.

I couldn't actually watch an entire movie on anything harder than pot, though. How someone on acid could sit through even an episode of "Diff'rent Strokes" totally escapes me. Either the stuff they took was really weak, or their minds are so burned-out they actually need the acid to function--that's my guess.

The only movie I have watched all the way through while indulging in mary jane was Pink Floyd's the Wall.

I highly recommend it.

I usually can't sit through a whole movie, though. I always want to put on really loud music and dance.
