Is this worth buying at £5.99 with no extras on the DVD? I mean, what exactly am I in store for? Johnny's review was pretty much glowing, and got me interested, but still... I'd like to know a bit more.

Is this based on the comic 'Faust' from the late '80's/early 90's'?
If so I'm SO there!!

I think it is, yes.

It is based on the comic and I thought it was pretty bizzare, yet entertaining for the most part. The action was good enough, and the music went well with it, yet came off a little cheesey at points. Main part I wasn't a fan of was the ending, which was just like some crazy satan orgy which I can only vaguely remember now.

A Satan orgy? I'm there!!

It's worth buying. At least if you can't help drooling every time Jeffrey Combs is on screen. Other than that, huh...

Where did you find it for £5.99 btw?

I liked the few issues of the comic I saw, but it sounds like the movie is nigh unwatchable.

This movie is awfull. Lots of good machinehead songs though. but if any movie with a monster shooting lasers out of a pentagram on its head or a guy running around in a red rubber Tick costume is your cup of tea then by all means.

Stuart Gordon was originally set to direct this film but he wanted to do it exactly like the comic with tons of gore and hardcore sex!!! Gotta love that crazy guy! Anyway, Yuzna told him he was nuts and took the project away from him. The results are ... OK. If you can get a kick out of stuff like DENTIST 1&2 and PROGENY you should find something to enjoy in FAUST as well.
