Question for PS2 RPG fans...

So, I've been looking at this game Xenosaga for a while now, debating whether or not I should get it. Every review I've read of it says it's a solid game, I like the looks of it, and I can probably get it at a pretty good price now since it's been out for awhile. So I was just wanting some info from some people who've played it. What do you think? I like most FF style RPG's, if that helps at all. I just don't like buying a game if I'm not at least a little confident that I'll like it. So, any input would be appreciated. Thanks!

I just bought a copy last week, but haven't cracked it open yet. If you can find a copy at Circuit City right now, grab it... it should ring up at $13 for the next week or so at least.

thanks for that tidbit there. At that price, it almost doesn't matter if it's not that great. I'll definately look for it.

Its a really good game, though the battle system might take a little getting used to (no problem if you've played Chrono Cross or Xenogears though).

Great story, great characters you actually care about, very cinematic. Some people seem put off by the amount of cinematics (there are a lot, no doubt). But if you didnt have a problem with Metal Gear Solid 2 (I didnt, i'm a cinema whore) then this'll be fine.

Theres also some pretty good minigames and sidequests (though it isnt a long game really) and the fights can actually get pretty tough.

For 13 bucks its no gamble at all. Pick it up.

So I finally picked this up a few days ago, and I must say I am pleasently surprised. Got it at Best Buy for 19.99. I'm 9 hours into it, and I like it a lot so far. Some of those boss fights get really tough to. They're loooong fights. I, too, am a "cinema whore", as you put it Cogs, and I really like the movie sequences. Very nicely done. I'm glad I bought this game.
