2004 is the year of the Bratt.

Benjamin Bratt is in all of the following flicks, all poised to come out in 2004:

The Lost City
The Great Raid
Thumbsucker
The Woodsman

AND, two movies with Halle Berry:

The Set-Up
Catwoman

I guess his turn in the Katie Holmes starrer Abandon really made people take notice.

Or something.

Rawiri Paratene, the actor that was so good as the grandfather in "Whale Rider", has a role in "Man-Thing".

Has a role in "Man-Thing".

The Woodsman is the least subtle title for a film about pedophilia.

Ever.

Guillermo Navarro, the talented cinematographer who frequently works with Guillermo Del Toro (they've done Cronos, The Devil's Backbone, and Hellboy together), also shot The Long Kiss Goodnight and Jackie Brown. Nice!

And Spawn.

And Stewart Little

Hmm...

But The Devil's Backbone!

"It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad World" (1963) has a three stooges cameo (Joe DeRita, Larry Fine, Moe Howard).

Day for Night is one of the best films about filmmaking.

Superfly was in fact just a drug dealer, and not really a pimp at all.

Speaking of Paul Giamatti, he was in Thunderpants. So were Keira Knightley and Ned Beatty.

Thunderpants.
This really should be a front-page column. Great stuff.
Heh, farting is funny.

Ned Beatty isn't.

D.W. Griffith was a racist. Case in point: Birth of a Nation. I do not blame him for being a racist considering when he was making films.

Ricky Jay, who has appeared in such films as Heist, The Spanish Prisoner, and Homicide (and who narrated Magnolia) is also a magician, and the author of the book Learned Pigs and Fireproof Women. He's also in the Guinness Book of World Records for throwing a playing card 190 feet at 90 miles an hour. He has another book about using playing cards as weapons.
Ricky Jay is the goods. Saw his stage act a few years ago.
Ricky Jay is amazing! He also has a small part in "Mystery Men". As does Michael Bay.

Doug Bradley, who is known for having pins in his face in the Hellraiser series, has jumped over to another never ending franchise. He'll be appearing in Prophecy: Revelation.

There he joins a : - friendly cast : (<---another one!)

Jason Scott Ghoulies 3: Ghoulies Go to College Lee

John Benedict Arnold: A Question of Honor Light

Sean The Tragedy of Flight 103: The Inside Story Pertwee

Kari Beastmaster 2: Through the Portal of Time Wuhrer

Directed by Joel Maniac Cop 3: Badge of Silence Soisson

Which leads me to this question: Which college did the ghoulies attend?

PCU was directed by Hart Bochner, who played the arrogant and shot-in-the-face Ellis in Die Hard.

Bochner later directed the John Lovitz vehicle High School High, which was one bochnered movie, honestly. Love PCU though.

That's because the majority of the cast is either from New Zealand or Australia, where the movie is being made.

Your Hart Bochner comments were quite intriguing though. I had no idea he had directed.

Heather Graham was slated to play the role of Heather #3 (the cheerleader) in Heathers, but the studio needed permission from her parents as she was only 17 and they said no.

Also, Jennifer Connelly was a top contender to play Veronica.

B.D. Wong, who played Dr Wu (yes, funny, ha ha) - the scientist who gives John Hammond the raptor's egg as it hatches in Jurassic Park's tour-round-the-lab scene - won a Tony Award in 1987 for Best Actor in M Butterfly on Broadway, a production which won Best Play and Best Director the same year.

Jennifer Aniston was cast as Jeanie Bueller, Ferris's sister, in the pilot for the Ferris Bueller sitcom.

Additionally, Ami Dolenz was cast as Sloan, and the show listed Bill Bixby as a director.
Wasn't just the pilot. They were both on the show for its short duration.

This is the kind of thing I remember.
Uninterestingly, both went on to star as the female lead in a direct to video franchise installment: Aniston in Leprechaun, Dolenz in Witchboard: The Return

There is a Being John Malkovich-like movie on its way featuring John Stamos.

It's called:

I am Stamos

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0398116/

Clint Howard plays himself.

I had to check the link just to make sure you weren't pulling my leg. Good stuff!

Damn.

I did find out, however, that Hristo Shopov, the actor that plays Pontius Pilate in Mel Gibson's The Passion of the Christ played Navigator Petrenko in Alien Hunter last year.

From navigator to pilot in less that a year. Nice work, Shopov. What's a man to do when he's tackled that kind of accomplishment? Well, shit - play a major! He's next appearing as Major Belov in Target of Opportunity (which, hopefully, is a commercial for the Everything store).

Shopov. Belov.

Beloved.

By us.

A stretch. But such a fine one.

Bless you.

I have the misfit's back on this one. Also, I believe that this show premiered at the same time as "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Aire". I think they were paired up on Monday nights.

Saw Citizen Kane from start to finish for the first time in my Development of Cinema class. I definately agree with AFI rating it the #1 American film ever. Such an amazing piece of cinema history.
