Ahhh, well, this is better. From a review at a site called daily-reviews:
The DVD cover for Curse/Night of the Demon states that the film is being presented in the U.S. for the first time at its original length, the British 96-minute version (Night) as opposed to the truncated original American release version (Curse) which runs 14 minutes shorter. This isn't exactly true - I have a Goodtimes Home Video cassette edition which bears the American Curse of the Demon title card, but is the full 96-minute version (which was also released on laserdisc). But it's interesting to have the two versions for comparison, even though in the long run it's the full-length cut that matters.
Curse of the Demon shortens, shuffles and deletes scenes in the interests of moving the story along, and toning down some of the witchcraft content. The opening narration is shorter, as is Holden's initial airplane encounter with Miss Harrington and a meeting with some fellow psychologists. Holden's visit to Karswell's coven members is deleted entirely, as is a scene late in the film when the conjurer's mother phones Joanna to warn her of her son's plans. Both of these moments set up plot points further along, and their deletion was unfortunate.
