This is a guy from my childhood. He will be missed

Captain Kangaroo

I saw it on the news, I paused and shed a tear. It was a weird moment for me because I felt like my childhood has definitely ended with the passing of such a great entertainer for children.
Atleast he died peacefully- he will be missed.

I always wondered who/what Cpt. Kangaroo was when his name popped up in some song or was referenced in some movie.

Now I know.

Now that he's dead.

This is really depressing news. Few celebrity passings are as sad as this is to me. He entertained me for many years as a child as did he for many other children. A void will be left by his passing that no one else will ever fill. RIP, Captain.

I asked Mr. Greenjeans why he was taking the backhoe out but he wouldn't tell me. (Sobs) I guess I know why now.

I hear that the new town doctor, Dr. West, will be handliing the autopsy. I'm certain he'll handle the good Captain with the dignity and respect he deserves.

I have fond memories of waking up to watch Captain Kangaroo.

Bob Keeshan was also Clarabell the Clown from Howdy Doody, IIRC.
