...if he doesn't remember that "The Magnificent Seven" was the American version of "Seven Samurai". There were many such western remakes of Kurisawa flicks - tho', many of them were Spaghetti Westerns ("A Fist Full of Dollars", "For a Few Dollars More", "Good, Bad, and the Ugly"). For his part, Kurisawa was, in essence, making remakes of Hollywood flicks by adopting Hollywood's grand styles of epic films for the Japanese audience. It's a cannibalistic circle that has gone on thru the ages. There ARE no more original tales out there anymore, folks, just new and original ways to tell the old ones...
Of course, I'm pretty sure Devin knew all this already. He was just being facetious about remaking "Seven Samurai" - but I couldn't resist calling him a twit! wink
