Did the music video for Meat Loaf's I'd Do Anything For Love...

...scare the shit out of you when you saw it?

I went through a terribly awkward Meat Loaf phase back in the early 90s where I would obsessively watch this music video everytime it played on VH1 or MTV, even though it absolutely terrified me.

And now, thanks to the marvel that is the Internet, my download will soon be complete, but I have a sneaking suspicion that it won't be as horrible as it was when I watched it roughly ten years ago.

In fact, something is telling me to cancel my download right now and let this murky fear hang around.

Beast man, yes. I get a kind of Ron Perlman Vincent Beauty and the Beast vibe when I look at that picture.

You guys are talking about Meat Loaf when they had that incredible woman in the video?

...I'm still terrified at the thought that there's something 'The Loaf' wouldn't do.

Any idea what it is guys?

My guess is eat a salad.

Meatloaf's video never scared me, but one that's always reminded me of it and DID scare me is this. Scarier that an overweight loaf in makeup by far.

I didn't find the video scary, I just found it a little rude and abrupt. what I'm saying is I found it curt, cobane.

That was somewhat clever I suppose, and has elicited a laugh. Not really a laugh per se, but the kind where it starts of like a giggle but then kind of transforms into a brief cough.

I will give you two points for the effort, even though the joke spawned after you saw my name - more or less a multipurpose jeer that could have been applied to anything, regardless of the topic.

Also, Kurt Cobain was an overrated, talentless schmuck.

yeah, sorry about that man. setup was awkward as hell, but I NEEDED to do it, get it out of my system.

Actually, it's explained in the movie "Spice World" what he won't do for love.

But he was a freaky-ass monster.

Meatloaf is overweight, but it doesn't really matter because he has more charisma than 95% of people I have ever met. The guy seems awesome. I love his music, but his personality makes him seem like a guy you could have a lot of fun with if he was your buddy.

I used to love this music video, haven't seen it in a while though.

The thing that always amused me the most was how, when the magic moment came when the woman's love changed him to a human, and the make-up came off, THERE WAS VERY LITTLE DIFFERENCE!!!!!

Honestly, it took me a couple of views to actually notice he'd changed. I was wondering what the big deal was . . .

Who's the woman that sings in this song?
Well, I think her name was Ellen something, and she was on the first few episodes of "Night Court", but the woman in the performance is Carla DeVito, Robby Benson's wife.
