I should probably just go back and read the review, but I'm a lazy fuck on what looks to be a stillborn thread, so let me ask...did Billy Bob write this? I've enjoyed every Thorton-scripted movie I've seen so far (Slingblade, The Gift, A Family Thing, One False Move) and might be willing to brave this on the off chance it has Southerner-only humor that may have been missed.

Yeah, he wrote and directed, but the writing is...not good. It's really bad, actually. Easily the weakest of all the movies you mentioned.

Billy Bob Thornton has to be one of the most inconsistent actors in Hollywood. I just can't figure this guy out. It's almost as if he deliberately follows up exceptional performances with roles in bad movies just so he can thumb his nose at those who call him brilliant - sabotaging his career for fear that he'll be considered a serious actor.

Slater taking another one for the team again. Ouch this sounds awful. I was just watching The Gift on TBS the other day and thinking Billy Bob did so well with Sling Blade and The Gift. I will be skipping this one thankfully.

"I'm the judge, damn it! If I want to sentence myself to five years of hot sex, that's my constitutional right!"

That's pretty funny.

In that case, thanks for taking the bullet, Slater. I'll just cower here behind this crate.

I think you must be retarded, or maybe you just have a short attention span. This film rocks. Did you just not like it because you've lived in the city for too long, and forgot how other people live? I think this movie is very true to life and moving. To tell you the truth, aftr reading your revew, I doubt you even watched the whole movie (and if you did, you obviously did not pay enough attention to details). I fart in your general direction.

I grew up in a town of 500 people, slapnuts. My high school graduating class was like 20 kids. I know small town life, and I know redneck. And this braying, trite hodgepodge of witless and pathetic fools is *not* small town life.

Thanks for reading.
