Favorite Movie?

Thread Starter
I'll apologize in advance if something like this already exists...

Is it possible to single out one movie as your favorite movie ever? I'm just curious because I know for me it would be pretty hard to do. I'm not even talking about movie "quality" so much either. It could be considered the worst movie in the world by many but for whatever the reasons are it's YOUR favorite. I'm not looking to ridicule or be ridiculed either. I'm just curious if anyone can pick ONE movie out of the MANY they've seen and call it their favorite. It would be fun to see what the chewers have to say.

If I had to pick mine, I'd probably have to say The Matrix.
At the time, that movie really spoke to me on many levels and I got into it (and am still into it) like nothing before.

Anybody else?

My favorite monument to the greatness of the film to date was seeing a framed one sheet hanging on Ed Norton's wall in 25th Hour.

Nice.

Apocalypse Now!

It's a little slow, which is why I don't watch it very often. But every time I do, I'm struck by how utterly fantastic it is.

As of this split second:

The Deer Hunter

Boondock Saints AND Once Upon A Time In Mexico..I can't just pick ONE..

Braveheart

Its got everything for me. Plus, it's got a great score.

I still tear up when I see Murron's throat get cut while she is desperately looking for William to rescue her.

I have a favorite film. I feel reluctant to post it because I love so many other films. Films that I think will never be matched are timeless like Apocalypse Now, Dr. Strangelove, The Fellowship of the Ring, Lawrence of Arabia and I could go on...

but Magnolia holds my highest respect. Quotable, twisted, moving, endearing, and just plain good.
