This guy is a neglected horror icon! He's Italy's #1 whipping boy. No one, and I mean NO ONE, has taken the amount of punishment this guy has in horror movies.
Some examples:
-As Bob, the sex doll groping pervert in Lucio Fulci's City of the Living Dead (Gates of Hell), He gets his head drilled by an industrial strength power drill in that movies' most famous scene.
-Ricky, the retardo sidekick of David Hess (that warrants a badge of courage right there) in House on the Edge of the Park , he gets to cut up snobby preppys that made fun of him and Hess, and he gets his balls squeezes and gets slashed with a razor.
-Cannibal Apocalypse . Playing a vet named Charlie Bukowski, Italy's favorite son is infected by a cannibal virus and spreads the contagion throughout the streets of Atlanta, infecting many people as well as John Saxon. He gets a giant hole blown through his body as the camera lovingly shows the background through his giant torso hole.
-In Michele Soavi's Stagefright , Radice, as a gay dancer, gets killed by his co-workers when the killer places his mask on Radice to pull a little decoy action.
-In Cannibal Ferox (Make Them Die Slowly), he kills a bunch of natives in a Coke induced frenzy, and when they attack him and his party in retribution, he escapes...not once, but three times!
All this while getting his hand cut off... his penis cut off and EATEN by a wacky native...but he gets his head put in a makeshift dinner table and the top of his head lopped off.
Even he can't escape from that.
So I say: Raise your glass in praise of Giovanni Lombardo Radice!!!
