I want everyone to acknowledge the greatness of the mid '80s BMX movie "Rad".

Is it your assertion that Devin trolls less often, less personally, or less viciously that any single person on this site? I figured we'd start with the king's explanation first. What exactly do you think YOU are accomplishing when you teabag one troll and denounce another?

I find "BMX Bandits" to be the superior film in the genre.

They hope to:

a) Indulge their egos.

b) Capitalize on the fact that there are far too many posters here who simply refuse to, or find it impossible to, 'walk away' from a flame fest (because of pride, vanity, egotism, hubris, delusions of self-importance and so forth).

c) Render this message board unreadable.


They have been, and will probably continue to be, remarkably successful.

Devin is funny. The trolls are not. If they were funny, they'd be something more than internet trolls - like writers for instance.

Pretty frequently. He can be a righteous bastard if his insults are aimed in your particular direction, but he's smart, cynical, and damn good at tearing someone down with just a few words, whether it's deserved or not.

What you seem to be missing, Mrs. Stiffie or whatever, is the fact that he contributes to these boards. Whether you like him or not, he keeps things interesting and every now and then he's flat-out hilarious. There's not many people here who can claim that...I can't, and I'm fucking positive that you can't either.

Your bleating, whining and righteous indignation has been done before, and it's been done a helluva lot better. Drop your tired little butthurt vendetta or I'd imagine you'll find yourself on a lot more ignore lists in the near future.

I know that the SP crowd is trolling Devin for fun, and whatever. It's pretty goddamn boring to watch, in my opinion, but whatever blows air up your panties. But if you're a legitimate member of this site and you apparently finds yourself unable to enjoy CHUD because of Devin...Mrs. Stiffie, Bob Clark, Angelus, whoever...put him on ignore. It'll make surfing these boards a lot less stressful for you, I doubt Devin will care, and the rest of us don't have to listen to this stupid bickering. Just put him on ignore. Everybody wins.

Does he go after people unfairly sometimes? Yeah, sure. But *most* of the time, his targets deserve whatever he gives them, especially when they start crying to Nick instead of realizing that this is just a message board, and none of it matters. You, for example, aren't coming off too well in this little skirmish.

And JRP, I've never seen ANYBODY come here and start discussing movies in a rational and intelligent manner only to get shunned or mocked by everybody. Usually it's the opposite, because God knows we need smart posters. The ones who run into trouble are the ones who either come to a movie site message board to push a political agenda, shill a product, or act like idiots.

Do tempers flare in the Politics forum? Sure. That's why I usually stay out of it. If you don't feel welcome there, don't discuss politics there. If one particular person is causing you grief, put him on ignore. There's NO POSSIBLE WAY that Devin can ruin your time here unless you let him. None at all.

Can you give me a single good reason why YOU don't put Devin on your ignore list? He's ignoring you, you're ignoring him...your paths never need to cross again. Why haven't you? Is there any reason besides publicaly grinding your axe?

The problem is not the trolls as much as it is people responding to them. I put a number of people on my ignore list, the problem is threads still get ruined because others aren't doing the same. I don't know why MooMoo, Clownpuncher etc... haven't been banned yet. Doesn't matter though because you can ignore them. JUST IGNORE THEM. The problem is YOU for responding to them. STOP DOING IT.
