A 28 Days Later question

First of all, let me say that this movie rocked! It was one of the most intense, disturbing horror films I've seen in a long time. Although the intensity flagged somewhat in the second half of the film, and I didn't especially care for the ending, I was still very impressed overall. Anyway, here's my question:

**************************************************
SPOILER

Why did the infected "zombies" only attack people who were uninfected, and not go after each other? If they were as rabidly violent as portrayed, it seems like they would have gone after anything that moved. Any ideas on this?

Because it's lifted from Romero films, henceforth it's built on their logic.
Romero zombies attack the living because they give off the impression of being "fresh"
It's like pigs being able able to sift out pig meat mixed in w/ other food, you don't mess w/ your own, pure instinct.

hmm, I should have probably done some research (or maybe watched the dvd again) before replying. But as far I can recall, it... might not have been explained. I don't remember there being a reason why they went only for uninfected. I think maybe since it wasn't explained, the default theory comes in to play: Any organism be in human or what have you has an internal instinct to ensure the survival of thier species. This is done by either reproduction or in the case of the newly infected human hosts.. their instinct is to spread their "species" by infecting other hosts thus spreading the virus.

so maybe the infected 'know' that attacking eachother won't do any good in spreading said virus. *phew

Another question is, when the Infected catch you, then what?

Do they try to kill you or just infect you and go along their merry way.

We really didn't see too much death brought on by the Infected, but almost all of the deaths were brought on by the "normal" un-infected people.

They were just a brutal as the Infected (since we all know that was the point of the movie, to show Man's inhumity to Man, I will run back into the crowd)
