This Week's New Release Dates - "Constantine" moved to 2005

"Man-Thing" is BACK on Lions Gate's release schedule with a "Fall, 2004" date.

"Constantine" just got dumped out of September and put on February 11th trying to tap into that "Daredevil" mojo.

"High Tension" is now ON Lions Gate's release as "Coming Soon."

Sony's putting "Warriors of Heaven and Earth" on August 27th.

I think that's about it for horror. It's a wild week - "Cinderella Man" just got dumped to next March off its Christmas date. Bye-bye, Oscar noms! And big Sundance winner "Maria Full of Grace" is now at July 16th.

The trick to seeing how potential Oscar nominees are good is if their release date is pushed back from one Christmas season to another. Seeing CINDERELLA MAN move a few months to the dead period of March says a lot about the script's quality. Although not Oscar related, the CONSTANTINE shift is equal proof of it's lack of quality.

I really want to see HIGH TENSION on the big screen, though.

Good. That gives 4 or 5 good months to destroy all prints of Constantine, then recast it, rewrite it, reshoot it and put out a movie that won't be a cinematic abortion.

Is it really listed as High Tension from LG? Cause the translation of Haute Tension is actually High Voltage...Just wondering.

I think it listed it as "Haute Tension," but I already deleted the e-mail. Whenever anyone's talked about Aja - from Variety on down as he's the name on everyone's lips out here - everybody's referred to the movie - rightly or wrongly - as "High Tension."
