I watched it last night, and stayed for both episodes. I liked it. I agree, I have never seen so much crying on TV. Those girls are mostly from small towns all over the country, and are unprepared for the criticism and demands of this project. The judges have snakes coming out of their heads.
One thing I find interesting about this show is that through the comments of the people running the business, I see that modeling seems to be more about attitude and knowing one's personal style than about beauty. Those are the model's contributions to the business. What they are being brow-beaten about the most is their difficulty in finding a believeable style of their own and their awkwardness on the runway.
Tyra is a seasoned veteran, and her politeness balances nicely with those snarly judges. She had to go through rejections and criticism too ("no model is perfect, NO model").
Shandi could win, I think. She has an idiosyncrasy in her face, her eyes are a little too close together, and she's borderline nerdy, on the surface, with something else inside. I'm inclined to agree, her boyfriend is soon to be history.
