Splinter Cell:PT, anyone? - Page 2

True heroism isn't bravery in the face of danger. True heroism isn't boldly acting when those around you dare not act. True heroism isn't making the tough decisions with a smile.

True heroism is beating the shit out of three other people in a marathon spy-on-merc toss down.

Great time, people. And damn you for keeping me up. When I'm fired for coming in late, when I'm standing along side an exit lane with a "Will Blow For Food" sign, when I die of complications of acute syphilis, I'll think of you bastards. Thanks a lot.

Thanks, but I wasn't THAT good.

Great time tonight, folks. Easily the most fun I've ever had with Xbox Live.

That was a tee-total blast, gentlemen. Looking forward to more mayhem soon.
That was also my first time using the headset. Hope I wasn't too loud or obnoxious or anything.

I got some kills, but I have yet to crack my first neck. I think I might do some solo running around those maps to learn them a bit...

Don't worry about it, Singer...you did really fucking good for your first time. Definitely better than I was on my first time. Or second. Or third.

As far as running around empty maps to learn the layout...ehh. I tried it the other night and was insanely bored after five minutes. It's a lot more fun to learn the layouts while playing against other people. And if that means that you get your ass kicked every now and then and your ranking stays low, that's fine with me. The only people who care about their online ranking are twelve year old kids. I just wanna play.

I'm staying out tonight. I feel I should give you guys time to hone your skills... you know, to help even the playing field.

ducks and runs

That was a good night of games.

Had a good time playing with you both, Verbal and Ryo.

And you too, Slater.

Recent Sonic can suck it, though.

Good times.

I'm insanely jealous. I'll have this game by next week.
Yes, yes, good times...although you guys fucking owned our asses.

I demand a rematch soon. Sonic demands it.
Sorry I missed it last night, but I was in bed by 11:00. How's tonight looking for you guys? I'm available starting around 10:00 or so...
Guys, just got this game, and I'm really looking forward to trying it out with people whoI at least heard about in a message board, it'll be an improvement over random morons. My tag is Astromarine, send something my way.
Will do, Astro. I almost NEVER play online games with complete strangers. You can count on the CHUD gang to give good game.
Won't be able to play this for a few nights.

Don't get too good without me.

Yeah, I've got Hellboy tonight and the casinos tomorrow, so I might not be online until Sunday. So go ahead, leetle girls...try to hone your skills. Try to memorize the maps. In the end, it shall not matter.

SNAP. SNAP. SNAP.

I wish I had money. I want to sneak around in the shadows and break necks.

Or get your neck broke.

Either way!

So what weapons are available to each side?
Mercs are in the first person and they have machine guns with a variety of grenades, mines, etc. Their view modes are electro-magnetic and motion sensors.

Spies have non-lethal weaponry that includes flash and smoke grenades. Night Vision and Thermo are attributed to spies. The spies play like Sam Fisher does in the single player minus a few changes (meaning no gun).

If you are a spy you can sneak up behind a merc and grab them a la Sam. You can choose to knock them out, put them to sleep, or kill them by breaking their neck.

I love this game.
ARe there any more hand to hand moves, single or multi player? The people's elbow is really only cool from the top rope, you know.
Oh yeah. You can also, on both sides, give the elbow. Well the mercs really just hit the with the butt of the gun. But still.

Anyone wanna play, now-ish?

Anyone playing this game while living in a GMTish timezone? I really want to play with the crew here, but at the times I'm on there's always noone there...

Slater, If I buy this game, will I enjoy it more than Rainbow 6? I don't need an extremely difficult one player experience. I already have Ninja Gaiden. The first one pissed me off, but the multiplayer aspect of Pandora's got me intrigued.
Tonight.

Yes. Absolutely. I'd go as far as to say the first-person-shooting sections of SC's multiplayer (which only make up half of the gameplay) are better than all of Rainbow Six's first-person-shooting.

It's the best online multiplayer I've ever played, let's put it that way. If you're even a casual fan of action games or first person shooters, I can't imagine that you won't enjoy it.
I'm in tonight. Been a crazy week, but I'm off tomorrow, and I need some neck crackin'.
I should be in.
Let's remember to use the "Online Now" thread...
Hey, how bad's the slowdown in the online games?

There were some people who could get used to it, (and even like it) but the insane slowdown was what kept me from playing Quake, Unreal, etc, online back in the day. I pretty much stuck to LAN.
The last Splinter Cell game I was in with the CHUD crew was completely lag-free on my end.
After South Park and Chappelle's Show.

Here's hoping I can find some free time to play it.
