The only wrestling games that mattered.

Yes, all the THQ/Aki games for the N64 are the best wrestling games ever.

This thread only speaks the truth.

THQ's Wrestlemania 2000 was the best. I created a new version of the classic tag team "The Orient Express". The members of this revolutionary tag team were Dim Sum and Ping Pong. They are Orient Bullet Train Express 2000.

Disco Inferno vs. DDP. Many a Diamond Cutter came out of nowhere, but Disco just would not stay down. Frustrated, DDP reaches into the crowd and grabs a chair. Disco is standing next to Kimberley in front of the apron. DDP charges, and at the last possible moment Disco dives back into the ring--but DDP has already started swinging, and clocks Kimberley across the face with the chair. He stands there in shock, she recovers and kicks him in the balls. Disco slides out, hits the Chartbuster, rolls DDP back in.. 1, 2, 3. *****

Credit to WCW vs. NWO for getting titans like Fit Finley, Glacier, La Parka and Van hammer into a videogame

Those were the days when they had that room that could fit something like a hundred people and then do that stupid light show came on when he came out...

Just played No Mercy too.

Best fuckin' ladder matches of all time.

But the greatest game intro goes to Revenge. When was the last time anyone watched it all the way through? It's like, 10 minutes long. Very epic. Hogan vs Sting. Intense shit right there.

I loved that intro. I watched it over and over before I even played one match.

Too bad Sting (in the storyline at the time) had to join the Wolfpac (red nWo) because that meant they had to color his costume and scorpion shirt. That was the only thing that bothered me about the game.

Wow...revenge was probably the peak of the AKI gameplay. Once they took control of the WWE license I feel they ended up limiting themselves a bit more in the move selection, although the create a wrestler move set was as deep as ever. Revenge took advantage of having the WCW license and took liberties with it i.e. the wrestlers could do specials off the top rope, DDP diamond cutter off the turnbuckle, Nash's powerbomb of the turnbuckle, Rey Mysterio and the frankensteiner. Having 3 specials was not very common in the WWE titles. AKI/THQ seemed to adapt the gameplay to the license for their future WWE titles.

Still, any AKI engine game has been a blast, although I think Revenge was probably the peak of it all. One of the best, if not the best wrestling game of all time.
