How I was awakened yesterday:

From a deep sleep I was awakened by a huge explosion, the rumbling of crashing rubble and every car alarm in the vicinity going off.

Two thoughts as I bolted upright in bed -- EARTHQUAKE (the ground was shaking, and the sounds were very similar to those I experienced in the Northridge earthquake in '94) and TERRORISM.

Sheepishly I realized it was demolition of a local freeway ramp as part of the massive Denver "T-Rex" freeway construction project. Very scary moment, however...

Heh. The second part of it didn't even go down. It took some massive smashing to get it down.

Traffic was a witch.

Are you sure it is not related to the infamous "gasgrill" referred to in your other thread? Maybe grendel IS already in Denver?

Obviously you aren't Charlton Heston or Harrison Ford, or those causes for the explosion would have been actual.
