Quite the opposite for me. Before the Aragorn recast, I was worried about the production. Something seemed missing in the cast. Viggo as Aragorn was *brilliance* the moment I heard it. I thought he was untapped Hollywood leading man charisma, just what PJ's production was lacking------THE HARRISON FORD OF THE PRODUCTION.

I mean he held his own charisma-wise with Michael Douglas, playing the slimeball antagonist in "A Perfect Murder". I knew right there and then that the right leading role would catapult him to stardom. The fact that he also had an edge of danger to his screen presence ("The Indian Runner", "GI Jane", Satan) made playing such an ultimate epic HERO, even more enticing. Viggo was PERFECT casting from day one for me.

Now Jack Black....

I read PJ and Fran's early Kong script, and going by that Jack Black would be a great choice for Charles Denham. The actor needs to be charistmatic, self-absorbed, the consumate showman. It wasn't a "dramatic" role, like something from Lord of the Rings. By that script, there's absolutely nothing weird with choosing Jack Black.

That being said, PJ has said that the script will be completely rewritten and made more "epic" and less like a light-hearted action flick. But its quite possible that the Charles Denham character will still retain the same qualities. In fact, I hope he does since he was a blast in the original script. But until we know more about the movie and the type of character Charles Denham will be, there's no way to really judge how good a casting choice this is.

Don't know about you, but I'll trust that Jackson knows what he's doing.
