Where's Marlowe?
Earlier CHUD man made me think of this. Wonderful film. Miguel Ferrer is fantastic as a battered L.A. P.I. Mos Def and John Livingston are great as the documentary filmmakers who want to follow up their New York water epic with a film about him. Allison Dean, Clayton Rohner, Kirk Baltz, John Slattery, and Miguel Sandoval all do great supporting work.
Not a great action or suspense movie, or a bust-your-gut laughing movie, but the characters are all great individuals and the story does have some real drama. They don't go overboard with the "film within a film" concept. This one flew right under the radar when released but is highly recommended.
