see, i was delivering pizza last night ...

see, i was delivering pizza last night and I was involved in a head-on collission. I crossed the yellow line slightly when I was preparing to turn (making it my fault) and a car smashed into me doing about 45-50 mph.

Spent about 4 hours in the emergency room having my head sewn back together. Now I am at home, not working (cause I don't have a car anymore) and on a medicine called Percocet. I am very hot, very nauscious, can not hold my food down and feel like total ass. And my head and knee hurts.

so, how's everyone else doing?

Good.

Now go order some pizza.
That sucks.

Get better.

Don't get addicted to whatever that drug is.

Seriously, sorry to hear that. I wouldn't with that on anybody... well... maybe a few people. Not you, though.

Jesus christ, man. Glad you're alive. Hope you just don't have a sick sense of humor.

Sorry to hear about you accident! Call the Doc and tell him your pain meds are making you nauseous and get somehting else prescribed.

For your nausuea I suggest.... suppositories.

How many stiches did you get?

On a serious note... Coke or Ginger Ale helps with the stomache.

Sorry to hear about your accident, dude. Should you be posting this in your condition? Go lay down.

"See, i was delivering pizza last night and..."

Dammit, I thought this was gonna be a porno post. Gyp!

Get better soon, and don't bogart those percocets...

Is this a good time to talk about fantasy trades?

Seriously... get better soon.
What? Not a single thought for the folks who didn't get their pizza?
Damn, I've had some good times on Percoset. Good. Times.

I digress though. I really hope you have a speedy recovery (no pun intended). And stop thinking about how it sucks to not have a car and thank God (or whomever you believe in) that you are alive!
Get some rest ya bastard! We shouldn't be worried about the guy getting addicted to Percoset, he's already addicted to CHUD! If I was in an accident that landed me in the ER for more than 5 minutes, especially if there was head trauma, I'd probably have someone else post about it.
Anywho, get better and very glad you're okay.

thanks everyone.

as for the woman who did not get her pizza, she just fixed something else.

I went and cleaned out my car today, and you are right Diva, after seeing the car, realizing how hard I was hit, I am thankful it is not any worse.

I got about an inch gash on the head, and I just was able to take my first shower since the accident to clean the head (had to wait 24 hours). The scar goes vertical down the head to my hairline. Hurt like hell to wash it.

The Percocet won't let me hold down food (I tried to eat Burger King today and it came right back up) so I am not eating well right now. However, I feel no real pain in my head. My arm is numb and hurts like hell from the technis shot.

I am kind of worried about my job. I have no tickets other than this and this is just one accident, so I hope I don't lose the job. I was in the process of trying to get a house this week with a friend and I have to keep my delivery job ($5.60 per hour plus tips, which averages out to $1500 a month take home). I can't just make minimum wage and live.

But, I am happy to be alive and in semi-good health. I get the stitches out in 10 days.

Thanks again for all the well wishes.

I was afraid that everyone from my mom on down would not believe me. What a time to have an accident - the night before April Fools Day. Lucky, my voice sounds so pathetic right now. They believed me with no questions asked.

Pretty sure it's not the Percocet...

maybe a concussion?

Depends on your reaction to the drug. Most narcotic drugs, including and especially Percocet (which contains an artificial version of codine), can cause nausea, dizziness, fatigue and a lot more. The degrees of these side effects can vary from person to person, even to the point of not having them.

Glad you're okay. Did EMSA run on you in Norman? What hospital did you go to?

Thanks. Yeah, I went to Norman Regional's emergency room.

EMSA's Norman routes are mostly good. There's a few jackass paramedics there, but most of them are competent.

Absolute bummer. I'd hate to lose my wheels, and have to fret about my job into the bargain.

I got given some painkillers for toothache the other day - some kind of codeine type thing - and they made me very weird. Drowsy, nauseous, faint and dizzy - however, they didn't really do much for the pain, which was kind of annoying.
Anbesol is the shit for toothache. I can vouche for it. I'm not sure if you guys have that across the pond, but I can mail you some for future use.

Starving Dog: Glad to hear that at least you turned out ok after your ordeal. It sounds like you came out lucky to be alive at least. Which pizza joint are you working for? I had a couple of buddies that worked for Pizza Shuttle. I remember them having pretty decent pizza back in the day. Haven't had it for 5 years, but if memory serves, they did a booming business. I always tip well to the drivers, as I was a pizza guy myself for 13 long months. It sucks having to deal with a busted car for deliveries. Maybe your insurance will do you right and hopefully get you back to jockying pies.

And I know exactly what you mean by living off your tips. I worked Christmas one year, hoping to make some extra scratch. Bastards sure didn't go out of their way to make sure I was taken care of on that day. Good thing I shared a bottle of Merlot with a couple of good friends earlier that day...

I'd diagnose it as a temporary malfunction of the frontal lobe that caused you to eat at Burger King.

Momo: I work for Mazzios. It's my only wreck and my only ticket so I hope to be back on teh road soon. As for Pizza Shuttle, it is the best pizza at 2:00am after you leave the bar and have the munchies.

Kid: The EMS guys were great. One of them called my work on his cell phone and they actually came in to check on me before they left the hospital too. Quality people.

Burke: funny.

Anbesol works for minor pains, but if Alice is getting prescribed codeine I doubt it would work for whatever she had. Plus, you have to keep reapplying it throughout the day. It wears off quickly.

You drank a bottle of wine before driving?! Bad, Momo, bad!

holy shit, $1500 a month? well i'm in the wrong business, damn, glad everything's okay, if you think it's the Percosset that's makin' ye sick, then stop taking it and sell it to one of the CHUD druggies, i'm sure you'll at least get 60% of market value...

The Pizza Shuttle jingle is still stuck in my head 10 years later. Of course the number used at KU is different than Norman so it does me little good in OK. Call us now Pizza Shuttle.

Making college kids fat for over twenty years an single handedly the largest binge meal of sorority bulemics throughout the midwest.
