Just saw this for the first time(I know). My question is POSSIBLE SPOILERS....



If Nicole Kidman's husband is dead why is it that he has to leave his family?

Taking a shot in the dark on this one but maybe it was because he had accepted the fact that he was dead. She and the kids hadn't so they were stuck in the limbo between life and death.
