Sorry to start a new thread on this, but I didn't really feel like trailing onto another that's been going for eons. In any case, I finally picked this up this weekend, and while I'm enjoying it, I dunno, there's a couple of things that are kinda holding me back.

The main thing is the whole combat system. I guess I was more expecting something like Jedi Academy in that way, and I'm probably a moron for not realizing it would be like this seeing how it's an RPG, but it just makes me feel, well, not in control enough. I guess it'll pass after a while, but it's a tad weird.

Also, the control seems a bit frustrating sometimes. I'll be walking around, then get stuck on something, even if it's like 1 cm high, and you have to go around, which isn't always great if you're running from a combat suitation. Also, I've found lots of times where I've been stuck in a place because one of my party is in my way, so instead of just moving past him, I have to switch to him and move him before I can move my other guy. It's a tiny bit annoying.

But it is very enjoyable in the long run. Right now I'm in the Black Vulkar base looking for the prototype swoop accelerator, although I'm having trouble with the Nikto ninjas right now. But it's good stuff, and to state again, yes Carl, you were right.

The combat gets a whole lot better when you've got multiple people with lightsabers and force powers. And that first planet kinda sucks compared to the others.

Yeah, the game really takes off after you get off of Taris and begin your Jedi training. You may already know this, but you can go to the options and tweak the combat stuff around and make it a little more interactive instead of the turned based style default. You can't make it totally free, but you can make get it so you're a little more involved. But, make no mistake, KOTOR is a GREAT game. You're gonna love it the more you get into it.

And then you have to play through it on the other side of the force.

Everyone seems to be so "surprised" by the twists in the game. Well, I saw both twists coming a MILE away!

Still, great game. Neverwinter Nights with lightsabers.
