Just saw the trailer for this in the Pioneer TCM DVD, and was wondering: Is that Matthew McConaheyramaramadingding hamming it up in there? Has anyone outside a studio ever seen this film? How is it?

yeah that's him. it's total shit. renee zellweger is in it too.

Yeah, it even hit theatres in some cities. You can buy it it pretty much any stores $2.99 dvd bin. It's pretty awful, but I will say that sprinkled throughout the 1 1/2 hours of shit there's about 5-10 minutes of Matthew McCanaughy insane madman genius.

This film is abosolutely in the Top 5 worst of all-time ... and I mean that in a bad way ...
It's a lame movie, and Leather face is incidental to the action. You could easily omit his character from the movie, and nothing would change whatsoever.

McConnehey's character was nice and over the top, but in such a goofy way that it seemed tiredsome.

I like the way they retitled it "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre:The Next Generation."

Yeah, that classes it up.

one guy rambles quotes the whole movie

one guy has a mechanical brace on his leg that they screw with by a TV remote

Also uber sadistic.

Btw....it's the first remake of TCM. So, TCM '03 is the third version of the series.

This movie is great fun I says. The acting at the beginning is horrible, but once they run into the Family, everything starts going correctly.

Dig in and enjoy.

It's a remake??
I remember some of the scenes in TCM:NG were similar to the original TCM, but I never thought it was a remake.

Its not like McConougeyeyhye has improved much since TCM 4.
"Bring down the BEAST!"

There havent been any remakes...only reimaginings

Didn't Joe Bob Briggs say the original cut of this was the best horror movie of the 90s?

Yeah, in his review at Rotten Tomatoes.

Apparently TCM:NG is out of print now, according to my Guzzlefish account. I wonder if Matthew McConau**** and Renée Zellweger finally got their way, and they had it pulled from printing in order to say face with the Oscar community in the future.
HAHAHA! The g-h-e-y part of Matthew McConau**** is blocked by the message board filter!

I'm so fucking new.
I was excited to see it. 5 minutes in, it had gone completely off the tracks. Couldn't follow a second of it. Still one of the worse movies I've ever seen.

But the filter nixing the McConni**** part was pretty funny. See, instant comedy!
my copy of the TCM:NG says' it a remake on the packaging

though the only true sequel is part 2, part 3 is basically a remake as well so what does it really matter
post #17 of 32
i liked it. thought it mixed the comedy and the truly disturbing pretty well. it's by no means as good as the original or even a great movie, but i liked it.
I bought the DVD as a joke, anyone who says they bought it because they liked is due for a face smashing.
It's not completely awful. I'd rather watch that again than some horror flicks.

Matt McConaucensored.

He didn't SAVE the movie, but he was fun to watch.
I have the original workprint edit, and it is NOT better than the released version.

It just rambles a tad bit longer.
This might not be a remake. At the end isnt that Sally from the first one in the asylam

Yep...and "Stretch" from part 2 makes a cameo in the beginning of part 3.

it seems that they all connect in some small way
post #29 of 32
I rate it above TCM 2003.

That's pure lunacy. Reactive maybe, but lunacy.

It was quite transparently Henkel's way of establishing himself as a legitimate voice of the franshise after Tobe got all the press to that pont and was rapidly losing evermore credibility with pictures like Night Terrors.

Even the wildly dissenting voices have to admit that Texas Chainsaw Massacre: A New Generation's X Files-style ending was more misjudged than any re-invention they could have come up with for the Texas Chainsaw Massacre 03

As an aside, does anyone else find it weird that LM Kit Carson, co-writer of Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 was a director/producer on Sally Jesse Raphael's show ?

Sounds perfectly appropriate to me...

If it wasn't for the "X-Files ending," as you put it, I would like the flick a hell of a lot more...
