ANyone grew up watching this show? The stories were pretty cool that I can remember. Anyone know if they're making DVDs for it. What was the best episode you can remember??

I used to watch this on SNICK and then flip over to Rhonda Shear hosted "Up All Night" - which always seemed to have a horror movie on.

My favorite "Are You Afraid of the Dark" had to be where they're investigating the ghostly Prom Queen from the '50's. It had a really cool twist at the end and I remember it wasn't so much scary as it was just a damn good episode. I also liked the one where they steal the clown's nose from the haunted house and the clown comes for them.

And she was played by Katie Griffin, who also played Sailor Mars in the English dub of "Sailor Moon". Chances are you watch something made in Canada and you'll find an English Dub seiyuu in there...

The best episode was the Pinball one. A kid get's trapped in a giant pinball game that takes place in an empty mall. He fights his enemies with supersoakers.

And any episode with Sardo or Dr. Vink.

Used to love this show. I couldn't specifically remember any of the episodes until you guys started talking about them - then the flood gates opened.

And it's also the one that made me take notice of Polly Shannon, who is a very famous actress in her native Canada...I'm saying if they make that "Legend of Zelda" movie, she's gotta be Zelda.

I used to really love this show. I remember I really loved this one about a mean librarian that wanted things totally silent. So she made sure anyone who came in would be silent...FOREVER!

Great show. Some fun stories that weren't afraid to be a bit disturbing at times.

Few that come to mind instantly-
The Clown one. Fucking scary ass clown gets his nose stolen and begins to chase kids down. The balloon under the door scene frightened me

The X-Ray specs that let you see the phantom creatures. There is something inherently creepy with this idea that there is some creatures moving between our plane of reality and the next, just doing scary shit. The worst part of the episode is when they turn and face her, definetly a classic "oh shit" moment.

The Pinball one. It was a cool set up, and just flowed really well. Fun to watch, and seeing the ball come over the top of the escalator at the end was classic.

The scary old house. I don't remember much, other than at one point you saw a face in a picture moving or something and it scared me.

The machine that stole peoples essence to make this kid live forever. Was scary watching his parents age rapidly, and then finding all the graves behind the house.

The FEAR soup episode. Funny, but the kids uncle coming back from the dead was downright creepy.

The original monkeys paw/bird claw episode. Awesome halloween atmosphere, and that part where the old black car pulls up was great.

Neve Campbell was in that one!

One of my all time favorite shows. I think this one beats out Goosebumps but that's up for debate. I don't think there will ever be a dvd release of the show. NICK released a few VHS copies of some episodes back in the late 90's.

I think one of my favorites would be The Bookish Babysitter and The Phone Police.

I knew they made VHS tapes in the early 90's but for some reason no Blockbuster in my city are carrying them anymore Oh well....

I think the only reason Dark beats out Goosebumps is 1. Goosebumps was never scary on T.V. I don't remember one episode that creep me out and 2. they were more episodes of Dark and nice stories. It seem Goosebumps was on then suddenly disappeared. How long did that show last? like 2 years.

I used to watch it occasionally

In "Gooseumps", some of those characters would have lapses of stupidity at the end, like the girl who saves her friend from the 'creeps', yet when the entire student population falls victim, she just stands there dumbstruck....Yeesh.

I was a touch too old for these shows when they came out. However.. One is never too old for Pete and Pete.
