Anyone pick up the XBox release of ESPN Major League? Got mine at lunch and am sadly without a console at work. Damn rules. anyway, here's hoping it's better than MVP.

Wait... I thought this wasn't out until NEXT week (4/14)?

Damn you EB, for not calling me!

i just got it (was waiting for quite a while by the way). haven't really gotten in to much of the game yet. most of the new features from last year will require more than my few hours of experience but can say for sure that the gameplay still rocks hard. that's always it's advantage over the others. graphics look good. first person is fun although not really a full time option.

that's what i have for you now.

more later

carl, xbox was today (yesterday) and ps2 is next week. let eb live. this time.

as for the game it's exactly what i'd been waiting for. admittedly my brief college co-ed-like "experimentation" with EA's MVP was a mistake. now i am on the right path. thank you ESPN.

any thoughts on the first person? I definitely like it for kicks (which i guess is why they created it) but i get a little nauseous after a bit.

fatigue meter is a nice touch.

Picking it up on the way home.

Going to start a season with the White Sox. This time we won't blow it in the 9th!

Picking this one up after my marketing class this afternoon. Can't wait. The IGN reviewer pissed me off so much when he/she said "While the gameplay is still the best in any game, is isn't that much of an improvement from last year". Ok, wtf......how do improve something that is already perfect? It isn't Sega's fault that MVP baseball was isn't up to snuff therefore forcing EA to make major changes every year. World Series Baseball is perfect just the way it is, and online play on Xbox LIVE is enough improvement to me to warrant a purchase.

I know you can't create a league online for this, but I would be up to creating a Chud league here. We could create a tournament here, and then schedule times to duke it out on live.

Ryo:

I feel your pain. Ign was crying about a lack of unlockable crap. how is that important to the game?

i'm loving this game.

I've been looking forward to this game. I'm glad to hear some good feedback. I'll probably run out and get it tomorrow.

I hope in the game I can make Jimmy Rollins hit the ball on the ground. I know in reality it will never happen.

Guys this game is sick! There is no way MVP 2004 can even touch this game. This game is what a Baseball game should look and feel like. Not like an arcady piece of crap. I'm putting MVP on Ebay tonight.
This game has awesome graphics, accurate facial scans and batting stances, teams for Dominican Republic and Venenzuela, Legends team, great broadcasting, and much more.
The first person view is horrible though, but I just keep it on the default normal view.
The IGN reviewer is a Pirates fan so I doubt he knows anything about good Baseball gameplay or has even seen a Baseball game in years.

This game is an outright dissapointment. I loved last year, but this years just isnt the same. I was playing my friend who was the A's and it basically became a home run hitting contest, as we both kept hitting back to back homers. Last year was all about pitchers duels, going 9 innings with a no hitter only to have an in the park home run for the only hit of the game in extra innings. Too damn easy and leaves a foul taste in my mouth.

Are you playing on legendary mode? That's all I'm playing, and I've nothing but pitching duels.
I got it last night and I like it a lot. I wont try legendary mode until i can hit on normal mode. It sucks when you win a game 4-3, with 4 home runs and 4 hits total. First person pitching is AWESOME.
