Just Bought TCM remake special edition

Before i start let me say i still love the original more and its in my top three favourite horror movies alongside Evil Dead and Dawn Of The Dead (originals ofcourse).

I had forgotten how corrupt and evil this movie was. Actually no i remembered feeling kinda repulsed and queasy while watching it in the cinema, but right now i'm re-living it again. This movie is true horror. It is a movie that wants to punish you and its heroes, the situation it puts them in is nightmarish and its twisted the things the filmmakers subject the characters to. Wow. Don't get me wrong, i think the movie is excellent, the most ugly and beautifully made movie (if that makes any sense) since Se7en, and i think its safe to say this one is uglier. Not many horror movies nowadays have the balls, to have the main characters lying face down in the dirt crying their eyes out for their lives while we sit cringing for them, hoping they get out of it, even though we know most of them wont. Not many get subjected through this type of hell, and i cant think of the last horror movie to make me feel this way. I think this movie is a disturbing masterpiece, a texas chainsaw massacre for the se7en generation, graphically gritty and detailed, and completely horrifying.

The DVD is a must own, the special features are awesome, the presentation even better, the cover folds out in one line vertically, with a picture of the chainsaw blade all along it. it also comes with an envelope marked 'evidence' which closed with a piece of sticky tape, with cardboard pics of evidence stuff from the movie. The metal plate, however cool it is by itself, is kinda there for no reason, it sits seperately and the only way to attach it to the cover would be to glue it on yourself. Weird. One problem though is the discs are held in so tight it feels like you are going to snap them taking them out.

Anyway guys who agrees with me on the film and who doesn't?

I rented the remake last week, and really liked it -- was taken aback by that, too. Think I'm gonna get the 2-disc version and dig into it this weekend.

another part that made me squirm, when the sheriff smashes morgan in the face with a bottle in the car, and breaks his teeth.

I think the last movie that made me feel the way this one did was "Children Of The Living Dead" or maybe "Plan 9 From Outerspace". But wait, at least "Plan 9 From Outerspace" was funny. This borefest just put me to sleep.
