Need help finding old NES game

I'm trying to find this game that I read about in Nintendo Power waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay back in the day. It's about this cyborg guy with a boomerang who fights all sorts of evil biomutants and aliens and stuff. And I think the plot has something to do with his wife/girlfriend being captured by said monsters. Does anybody know what this game is? I'm pretty sure there's a sequel, and I can't for the life of me remember the name.

I think it has Blade in the title, not sure though.

Well, wait there's power blade, but i don't think that's it. My memory's a bit fuzzy, and maybe the boomerang wasn't part of it. But I do recall a game with a bunch of mutant/alien human hybrids and the main character's wife is involved.

Man, that's vague. ANybody who can figure out what the fuck I'm talking about is a god in my book.

Could be either Power Blade 1 or 2. Does this help?
