Yet another LINK

Man, those freakin' Japanese....they get all the good stuff. This so called "Platinum Pack 2" Xbox console bundle includes the system, Crimson Skies, Halo, 2 controllers, a DVD playback kit, and 2 months free XBL subscription. And all for only about $190 USD. (19950 yen) What a crock o' shit, man! I want cool stuff over here.

I know it's a strategic move to get the XBOX to sell better in Japan, but still! C'mon man, throw us a freakin bone here! Where was this kind of bundle a year ago when I was buying my XBOX?! Don't get me wrong, I love the system, but damn, that's a good freakin deal.

Oh well, at least I got one.

In a somewhat related story, XBOX sales have doubled in the last week or so since they dropped the price 30 bucks. I would've never imagined that there were so many people just waiting for it to get a little bit cheaper to jump on it.

That's pretty impressive.

Well, uh, here you go.

It's the same deal, except we get shitty games like Tetris Worlds and Clone Wars, and this is available only at Costco, but probably replicated at other domestic retailers. Still, not a bad deal. I'm still wondering whether or not I should get one.

you could always order this funky bundle instead.

I don't really give a rats ass about any special edition consoles that the japanese get. Is there any need, outside of replacing a broken console, to go out and buy yourself a new one? The colors on the things are usually just awful. ie, that white panzer dragoon orta x-box released last year.

I fell prey to all that crap years ago, back when they had the original game boy, and then the game boy color-which-wasn't-really-in-color, and then the game-boy-color-that-wasn't-really-in-color-but-was-really-thin (pocket), and then the game boy color, and then the game boy advance. I haven't shelled out any cash for an SP, with the original GBA the last system I've purchased.

This is why I'm reluctant to get back into the cycle of buying things just because they're fancy limited editions.

Yeah I saw that green Halo bundle before. Hideous color on that thing. I like my black one.

I'm not the type to get a new console just because of a new bundle or special edition, I was just complaining that there was no such bundle when I got my Box a year or so ago.

It did come with JSRF and Sega GT, but only one controller. I don't care about the DVD playback kit, I never use consoles as DVD players. That's why I bought a DVD player. But it would've been nice to see some cool games and an extra controller included when I bought mine. Oh well.

My disc drive is shot, so I will probably be picking up the new bundle next week. Besides, I am the only XBOX owner on the planet who never bought Halo.

I'm surprised nobody's gone and sued microsoft for making such a shoddy product. I owned my first unit for 8 months before having Circuit City replace it....a handful of friends back in canada had to do the same too, but they had to pay for their replacements.

I don't even play it that much. wtf?

My XBox gets the heaviest work-out of my systems, plus it was packed pretty loosely and abused by UPS, and it still works perfectly. Some people have bad system karma, I guess.

in seven days, you will have to buy a new x-box grave. an ugly green one at that.

at the time I believe my friends had to cough up upwards around $250-300 to keep their gaming fix going, for a plain no games/controller-included box. when you're living in a town that no longer has any viable industries/employment that's a lot of green. or something.

Wow, that is surely the kind of deal I have been waiting for. I have to make sure that my COSTCO membership. Its time for me to buy and XBOX and not just borrow the friends' stuff.

Do you honestly expect us to remember every quotable line from every movie we've ever seen? Do you have any idea how many movies I've seen? I've got a pretty good memory, but I could only quote you a handful of movies. Besides, I know exactly two people other than myself who've seen that movie.
