The Long Good Friday

Top notch Brit gangster tale from early 80's. Anybody seen this one? Bob Hoskins, Helen Mirren, great script - early Pierce Brosnan as an IRA gunboy.

Last minute add to any easter DVD party lineup.

"I'm setting up the biggest deal in Europe with the hardest organization since Hitler stuck a swastika on his jockstrap. "

Much earlier and better than any Guy Ritchie attempt at the genre.

The music played at the end of this film is so very cool. So distracting to see Charlie from Casualty take a bottle to the face, though.

I'm a huge fan of this one. The range of expressions that run over Hoskins face and through his eyes at the final scene are incredible. And Eddie Constantine is pretty cool in this as well.
