The Masters

I'm not a huge golf fan, but dammit I love watching the Masters. I love how cheesy the music is and how they never shut up about the traditions, like Amen Corner and whatever that bridge is called. And they spend about half the time showing flashbacks of historic moments.

Today is Arnold Palmer's final round ever. This is his 50th straight Masters appearance.

Some guy named Rose is winning right now. Tiger shot -3 today to go back to even overall.

Anyone else watching?

Yeah! I'm so happy for Phil. That was a great finish. This will be remembered as one of the classics.

I watched Arnie's final round, which was very nice. I guess the debate on who would win a Major first (Phil Mickelson or Michelle Wie, the 13 year old Asian Girl) is finally over.

I probably would have put money on Wie. She has been doing well in the LPGA events. Shows you the competition in the LPGA is about as good, well, the WNBA. Plus, she is just fun to watch. When she played in the pro event in March she was a blast. All the guys were having a great time watching this girl that really will have the ability to play on the men's tour in ten years. I hope she does not burn out beforehand. She sure is young.

I was real surprised about Phil actually winning. That Saturday night, a friend and I were cracking jokes in the local sports bar about how high his final round score was going to be (think I settled on 81). Imagine my shock when catching the highlights on Sunday...

81 is a fair score considering his past. I would have chose a 77, but 81 is not out of the rhelm of possibilities. Good for Phil. I was rooting for Tiger, as always. But if he can not win, then Phil is not a bad winner.
