I loved this movie when I was a kid, now I only kinda like it. Ernie Hudson and Tim Curry are really cool, and the laser gun at the end was cool too, slicing off limbs and stuff. But Amy. That stupid talking primate retard. I hate that bitch.

Just because she has a little problem ? C'mon, you should give hairy women a chance.

Look, she's got that cool taunt glove from Hellboy!

"Bad! Gorilla! Bad! Go away!"

I should rent this again. I thought it was cool when I was a kid, but it probably really sucks. I just thought the scary apes were cool looking.

Nice little Bruce Campbell cameo in there too.

The book is surprisingly very good... much like most Crichton books it changed up completely on screen. The result was a fun movie with Hudson and Curry being funny to watch on the screen.

It's cheesy now. But still fun.

Burger King, Taco Bell, or both had MAD Congo tie-ins. I remember Tim Curry's line "We are... watching you." was always in the commercials.

100% correct. After I read the book I couldn't believe how light and silly the film was.

Yeah, everyone was pretty much expecting this to be the next Jurassic Park. I guess Dinosaurs > Apes.

It makes sense when you look at the trailers for the film. Hyping Frank Marshall and Kennedy as the producers from Jurassic Park and then Michael Crichton writer of JP. Marshall wasn't up to the task.

Taco Bell had those watches, along with the "Volcano Burrito" to promote Congo. I too, have one oif those watches.

It's extremely uncomfortable to wear. It's all plastic.

lol! I don't wear them. In fact they are still in the packaging.

Lord, this is getting sadder by the minute.

I don't know what's worse. The fact that you still have yours in the packaging, or the fact that I actually WORE the thing. TO SCHOOL.
That's okay. I wore a Congo watch to school too. Not all the time, of course.

Meh, I liked it. Yes, Amy too.

"Ugly. Gorillas. Ugly. Go away!"

This movie actually sucks and blows at the same time.

Totally agree, the book was a really good read.

A great B movie adventure.

I love this movie.

Every gooey, cheesy crevice of it.

I love the scary apes and Amy the talking Gorilla.

A fun throw-back to the cheap fantasy adventure films of the 70's, think of "The Land that Time Forgot", only with better effects and slightly better actors.

Definitely better than that piece of shit LOST WORLD.

I love all cheese of this kind and CONGO makes me happy.

"I'm your great white hunter...except i happen to be black."

Some fun times are to be had when watching this movie...cheese but quite amusing.

i never understood how the friggin' glove worked. she never pressed any button when she wanted to speak - the glove just "picked up" her movements. but then, since she was waving her hands all the time when she walked or ate or whatnot, why didn't the glove spit out lots of words pretty much constantly?
