Killzone: why all the hype?

I saw a video demo on a games mag and I am wondering: why all the hype? Halo 2 beater? I am not convinced.

Don't get me wrong, it doesn't look bad, it doesn't look bad at all.
But that said, it seems like we have seen everything in it before in past FPS and upcoming ones such as World War Zero.

I dont get the hype either. The graphics look really good, but nothing about the gameplay seems very original, and the AI seems awful so far.

It's going to let down a lot of people, I think.

I cannot fathom an FPS playing well on the Dual Shock 2. I played Timesplitters 2 on it as a demo, and it made me hold off on getting the GC version for a long time, something I now regret.
