Copland

Just saw this flick....wow.

It will baffle me forever why Training Day gets more positive lip service than this movie.

I just thought it was amazing.

Anyone who says Sly Stallone can't act either

(a) has never seen this movie

or

(b) has seen this and in all probability is on some sort of drug

The final shoot out is amazing. It's tense and where Freddy gets shot in the ear and you hear a buzzing noise all around is probably one of the most inventive use of sound I have ever
heard in a movie.

Come on people.....show the love for this flick. You know it deserves it.

Love this movie. Ray Liotta once again proves why Hollywood doesn't deserve him.

This movie was pretty fucking cool. You're right, why DON'T more people care about/talk about this movie? And hey! the special edition is out soon. I've got a friend watching it tonight so we'll be discussing at work tomorrow.

A great movie! The main 4 all do good work but I love Robert Patrick in this flick. When you consider his roles in this, "T2," and his work on "The Sopranos" you have to realize that he has got some amazing range.

If you're into "The Sopranos" look at this movie carefully and you'll see cast members show up in all sorts of places. Though some are of the "blink and you'll miss them" variety.

Please tell me your joking about the special edition...I love this movie so much I would feel compelled to get it even though I just brought the barebones

Patrick is great, but I loved all of the cast in this. I felt sorry for the guy in the beginning because why should he loose his job because of those crack heads who tried to kill him? I thought they were really trying to help him out of sympathy but then you realise that Kietel's character is truly, truly corrupt.

Stallone really surprised me. I mean he acted well in Rocky, but in this he changed so much physically, anyone has to give him props for just that.

That scene with the huge guy on the rooftop was great...as was most of this film...but that situation was never really resolved.

Yeah, man. Special Edition is out...June 1st, it says. Yeah, I feel your pain. I just bought the bar bones, too.

I love this film. More proof that James Mangold is the man.

What with the huge cast in this film, I also fail to understand why this film doesn't get more love. I particularly enjoyed DeNiro--he doesn't often play someone so...merry. Can't agree more with the Stallone comments Fireflyfan made.
I think the film has a really good premise, and Stallone is the glue that makes it work so well. If his performance hadn't worked, and his character hadn't seemed so clueless and unmotivated for most of the film, the film wouldn't have worked either.

I think it's worth watching just for the Liotta vs. Patrick scene. That was awesome.

It's good, but Stallone is the weakest link in the film by far. He tries, but lags far behind DeNiro, Patrick, Keitel, and especially Liotta.

I respect that but I gotta say I disagree. The cast on the whole was fantastic, but every one of those actors, except Patrick maybe, have done a similar kind of character. Not that it's a knock, the cast are all wonderful , the fact that they seem so comfortable in their roles is a good thing. But Stallone did a total 360 degree turn.

Stallone transformed himself physically and looked really beat up. The first shot of him playing pinball assured me he would be playing something totally different. I really sympathised with the guy. He lost everything he was going for to save someone else, when the real cops spent so much time killing and betraying each other . And you can feel he is torn in many ways. You get the sense that it was incredibly hard for him to come forward against his former friends, and it rings true when Deniro's character dismisses him and, disillusioned, he just says "You people are all the same." He wants to go for the girl, but still holds back (you never really see anything happen). He is torn between two guys he considers his friends, Keitel, and Liotta.

Seriously this is probably the best cop film I have ever seen and I have been racking up those numbers so far. I really think this film should have been on the hundred films that deserve more love article. I can't sing this movie's praise enough.

I like the guy (I even love Judge Dredd) and I don't think he has done too bad.

Sure he hasn't done any movies in a while, but he has had one iconic role (Rocky), nabbed a few oscars and oscar nomination and has quite a few quality movies and is a multi-millionaire. That's more than alot of actors ever achieve.

I see what Subotai is saying. Not sure I agree but I see it. I'd probably chalk it up to the writing of the character in comparision to the other ones in the film. I thought this was a good flick. Nice performances all around and so far James Mansgold's best work.

If they ever create an award for best acting while eating a sanwhich it must go to DeNiro for this film. "Fuck him."

i don't know if i'd say this killed his career, i'd think Driven would've been more detrimental, he was still making at least a movie a year, except for 1999 which is odd, i think Spy Kids 3-D will give him a jump start... as for Copland, a superb film, and i'd have to disagree with Subotai, i think Stallone upstages most of the people in the movie, don't confuse being starstruck with good acting, and Keitel is still a hack...

Whatever happened to the Stallone film where he plays the cop investigating the "Biggie and Tupac" murders? I sort of lost interest when I heard Suge Knight was some sort of advisor to the project but has it actually been made?
